Okay, the use of sound and screen shake in this was absolutely perfect. Running around trying to dodge the monster felt so intense and nerve-wracking. My heart was literally racing. This is a hidden gem!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it :P

The race to the end with 7 keys had me jumping, really fun game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I wanted to create that thrilling experience for my players so I'm happy to hear that!

holy molly my hands were sweating!!! now this is how you make an engaging, scary horror game! Everything from the shrinking vision to the elevating sounds, they worked beautifully to create a chilling experience. thanks I learned a lot!!!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad I scared the hell out of you :P  I'm hoping to make even better games in the future. I'm glad you learned a lot from this game. Thanks again for playing!

This game has so much polish and juice. I got lost often and was only able to find 5 keys, but it was really fun. When I was really determined I mashed the arrows for my life, and I felt just like John Rambo. The game is very difficult because the AI is so relentless, and your movement is so restricted, but the aesthetics make it so easy to jump right back in. Great game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I've been studying up on game juice so I'm glad to hear that! I've recently updated the game to support keyboard controls because of the huge amount of comments about it and toned the AI down a tad bit as well. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed! Thank you again very much!

I love the little scuttling animations, fantastic use of audio to get you feeling that sense of dread and panic.  Vignette effects were done very well also!   Not sure I'm the biggest fan of the control scheme...it does make you "panic" more and smash the arrow buttons, but it also makes losing feel like it's due more to the responsiveness of the controls than anything else.  Still, tons of polish and if the goal was to make the player feel a little anxiety, you definitely nailed that one!  :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! I was definitely hoping for the "panic" feeling for the controls but I suppose that the onscreen controls were not the right way to approach it. Anyway, thank you for the constructive criticism! I really appreciate it!

This had me, so simple yet so intense. Great sound design and dynamic gameplay. And I could not put it down without beating it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

visuals, effects, and audio are incredible and makes for a tense experience, but the controls feel very unresponsive. I like that you click with the mouse because that makes it more tense and difficult as opposed to just using the keyboard, but it feels like you have to click 10 times to move once. It seems intentional since you are able to move faster when the monster gets closer, which is a cool idea, but it doesn't feel great to use the rest of the time.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'll be updating the game with keyboard controls as an accessibility option after the jam's rating period ends. Thanks for the feedback!

Nice effects and the sound really made you feel like you had to run for it! I be smashing dem buttons, da hell outta here.

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing! I poured a lot of time on juicing my game up :P

The torches had really nice particles that definitely contributed to the dungeon feeling more confined and small. The movement was tough and i feel like it was optimised more for mobile which is fine but made for a more hectic experience on pc (correct me if I'm wrong) Overall though a really well polished game :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! I realized that maybe I should lean into the claustrophobic nature of a dungeon crawler so I made the dungeon quite tight. I might decide to release this game on mobile if I my time allows me, but I'll update the desktop version of the game to support keyboard controls when the game jam's rating period ends. Thanks again!

Really good visuals and sound design on this one, I wasn't expecting to get spooked! I agree with others WASD movement might feel a bit better, but it doesn't take away from the experience much.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I poured in a lot of effort on the game's feel so I'm happy to hear that! I'll update the game with keyboard controls after the game jam's rating period ends. Thanks again!

This game is really well polished, the sprites look amazingly crisp and clean and the sound design is amazing and really brings the game to a completely different level. I personally would love to move with WASD instead of clicking on UI but that's just a small nitpick. Overall really nice game and well done.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I wanted to make the game a bit harder by making the player more prone to mistakes through forcing the controls to be on screen, though, I do think an accessibility option to play using the keyboard would have been nice. Thank you very much for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

This game feels so crisp I can't even comprehend it. And it is a huuuge example of what good sound design can accomplish. Honestly i wasn't expecting what I got when i started playing, but damn, i am happy i played. Also, this feels like it could be a really interesting experience on mobile? Maybe after a few more dungeons and random placements this would be golden

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I really like making juicy games :P  I did actually have a mobile mindset when making this game and I do think it would be really nice to be played on mobile. I wasn't able to add in extra features because I was running out of time but I could add those in the future if I decide to expand on this game. Thank you very much for the feedback! I very much appreciate it!

Amazing atmosphere man! It is so scary, Love the use of post process effects here

Excellent atmosphere. I was really scared when the monster run to me. Really a great job making this.Controls with keyboard and a full screen mode would be nice. Otherwise a good game. Well done! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! The controls were intended to be on screen and difficult because I think that's what makes the game interesting. I think keyboard controls would work too though and I should have put it in as an accessibility option but I ran out of time. Anyways, thanks again!

Dam that's intense with amazing game feel. Legit actually makes me tense up!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! The intense feel was exactly what I was aiming for so I'm glad to hear that! :P

Submitted(+1)

This was actually scary, well done creating that atmosphere with the lighting and music. The actual speeding up of the game was super satisfying as I wanted to get away as fast as possible. Overall a nicely polished take on an old genre. Well done.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad to hear that it was scary and atmospheric. I wanted to make it as immersive as possible so I focused a lot on the atmosphere and sound design. Thanks for the feedback!

Pretty much had me on my toes the entire time. The way you sped up the player and increased the music volume created a lot of suspense whenever the player was chased. I didn't manage to get all of the keys but I had fun playing.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad it kept you on your toes the entire time :P   I focused a lot on making it suspenseful so I'm glad to hear that!
