It seems I am having issues with other players experiencing the same thing as well. I apologize, I am working towards a solution.  There is something with the assets I am using that Unreal is not liking. I will update the page once I find a fix.

That was it. Apparently it left a ton of assets out and I did not include all the levels, hence such a small file size. There should be an updated version in a bit. Right now it is still cooking all the assets in game and everything. I swear this game jam has been a learning experience. I am still new to this, so certain things are falling through the crack. Thank you for the encouragement.

literally it is in two areas and I used the same assets over and over. It looks detailed because post processing but I didn’t even use scans or anything. The asset pack I used was pretty basic (wood and concrete). I wondered the same thing as this is my first ever game I’ve ever packaged with Unreal Engine. I even tested it on multiple machines to make sure everything was working correctly. Searched up on why file size is so small. But from what I’ve found it has to do with the amount of assets I used on top of how big the in game is. Is it showing any errors or anything? Because I need to figure out what is going on before deadline is over.

Sigh. It looks like the packaging is missing a lot of stuff. I’ve gotta try and figure that out within the hour. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

What do you mean is the game not working properly? I’ve tested it on multiple machines before submitting it. Not sure what you mean.

So I just submitted my game with 6 hours to go. I wish everyone the best of luck and please drop a link to your game in the comments. I want to play them. The more the merrier.

Here is my game if you are interested in playing it.

I got it to package an d it is uploaded now. I appreciate the encouragement. You and the whole community is awesome.

This is my first ever game jam, and I have only been at this for like 10 months. I have so much to learn. I am about to submit my game in a bit, but knowing how poorly optimized in some  areas and how buggy it is, I totally understand why developers take years to release a game, and it still has bugs. Good luck to both of us, this was fun, frustrating, depressing and inspiring.

I do. I went through and updated everything and it is currently packaging now. This has been a learning experience.

.

Thank you for this. I decided to take a nap and try at it again. I a making progress and narrowing down what is actually causing this. I will fight to win.

Hey all. Pretty much, I am at a point where I am packaging my game for testing, but I am having no luck with actually getting the game to package. I have tried a lot, and think I may not be able to get it ready in time, if I can't package it. I swear Unreal Engine is nice, but so many things that can go wrong. I wish everyone luck in this jam. I hope I can still join you all.

Pace yourself, but focus on mechanics first, then building something simple, yet aesthetically pleasing. Relax and work on something you would want to play.

I viewed it as like in a horror movie where the term nothing can go wrong is usually right before everything goes wrong. But honestly, you can interpret it in anyway you want.

Yoooo, that sounds amazing! I look forward to playing your submission. I am still trying to figure out what I am doing lol. Good luck to you!

Good luck. This is my first game jam as well. Good luck to both of us

Maybe make it about a trip, and if anything goes bad then you will have a bad trip? Give it [psychedelic visuals, but you have to complete tasks while trying to navigate through the visuals. I like your idea. Sounds cool.
