I figured out how to move, but apart from that I don't know how to do anything

(1 edit)

Hi ! I'm Michael, I'm mostly a developer and I'm planning on making a game for this game jam with a friend of mine who is mostly a graphic designer. We would love to work with you. But don't expect too much from us, all games we made until now where made in gamemaker studio 2 and this will be our first game made in unity.

a dictionary would have been nice.

I tried to put the batteries into the flashlight but just couldn't guess the right word. Also grammar is spelled grammar not grammer.

Pros

I enjoyed the music and art style

the second part was fun

Kons

the first part was a bit strange all you had to do was going to the enemy and just hitting him

the window was a bit to small, would have been nice if it was scaled to twice the size.

Also the game is a bit large with its 120 MB. I think that jam games should be smaller so they can easily be downloaded and played without waiting.

that fixed it

Pros

The music was nice

I liked that you often had multiple routes

Kons

I didn't like the style of the tiles

It felt frustrating when you fall into spikes you couldn't have seen coming

The clicker game in the end is way too long, the enemy has way to much hp and the bullets he shoots don't do anything wich confused me

I don't get what this game has to do with Mozambique

Pros:

I really enjoyed your game

I like the idea

I like the graphics

I like the audio

I like the controls

Kons:

The death sounds of the enemies is waaay to loud

In the warp part I got a little motion sickness because of the curved monitor

I couldn't play the game because of an Error message (Error: Could not load game data at path '.'. Is the .pck file missing?)

I googled for the error and found that the name shouldn't contain a dot (src: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/32422)

Pros

I really enjoyed the idea

the sounds and the artstyle was okay

Kons

I missed a tutorial, putting it in your project page is definetly not a good solution

After reading the project page i didn't read the *spoiler* and I proceeded to play the game, i didn't know what the hell i was doing, i only recognised the tetris and the game of life part. After playing i then read the *spoiler* part. It contained crucial information for understanding the game it should be part of the tutorial and not part of the spoiler. Except of course if your aim was to leave the player confused and not understanding anything.

In the tetris part you should allow the player to move the pieces horizontally multiple times if they hold the left or right key.

Pros:

Its an interesting take on a clicker game

I enjoyed the artstyle

I liked that you didn't have to click anything and just had to go on these tiles to buy stuff

Kons:

It is really large with its 400MB and it took me 5 mins to download it

the progression is way too steep, as soon as you get to the door its just a waiting simulator. It felt like you had nothing to do except wait for a few minutes

I think that using the escape button for closing a game is a bad idea because I just wanted to pause it but then, well, it closed.
