‘A Meaningful Jam’ starts in a bit less than 24 hours!🥳

The theme will be revealed shortly before the jam starts and then it’s time to start creating! 😁👍

If you have any questions or if you need help with the jam or with your game at any point, you’re always welcome to ask on our Discord server or on our jam community forum! 🤔❓

The jam is a week from starting! If you haven’t already, go ahead and join the jam and learn a new approach to designing your games! ^^

A Meaningful Jam invites you to learn professional game design concepts by making a game based on the MDA framework and Meaningful Play!

The goal of the jam is for participants to learn and use the MDA framework and the Meaningful Play concept when designing their games.

FAQ

Q: What game engines can I use? A: You can use any engine to make your game (but please see the next question).

Q: What platforms should I release the game on? A: To allow more people to play your game, you should release it on as many platforms as you can build for. We recommend Web, Windows, Mac and Linux. Your game must be free and playable on at least one of these platforms without requiring any additional software download.

Q: Can I work with a team? A: Yes! Visit our Discord or our jam community forum to find someone to team up with!

Q: What if I’ve never made a game before? A: This is a beginner-friendly jam. Feel free to ask for help on our Discord server or the jam community forum.

Q: Can I submit more than one game? A: You can submit as many games as you like but if you do, please ensure that they follow the rules and are made to a reasonable standard. Flooding the jam with very low effort entries risks having them removed.

Q: Can I submit an unfinished game? A: Yes but please submit it near the end of the jam. Do not submit non-functional games.

Hello! o/

I’d like to partner with an artist that can draw NSFW/hentai characters with simple or a bit more complex backgrounds for a lewd puzzle game. More specifically, I need someone who can draw full body digital illustrations of anime characters in various lewd poses. Bonus points if you’re comfortable with drawing weapons and gear as the game is WW2-themed (think nude waifus with guns/helmets/bullets etc.).

Your job would consist mainly of drawing characters and certain UI aspects of the game (buttons, overlays) that would fit the theme. Exact amount of characters needed is still not decided upon, but you can count for 15-20 characters that need to be drawn (one for each level).

As for copyright issues, you can think of this as commission for a typical commercial project. All rights for the illustrations would go to me, but naturally you would get credited wherever possible. I’m open to discussing a different arrangement for this if you had something else in mind.

Now for the most important bit: PAYMENT

Sharing revenue from the game once launched on multiple platforms is the only payment I can offer. A 50:50 split, right down the middle. I believe in complete transparency, so you’ll also always be able to see exactly how much you’ve earned from each platform the game gets revenue from.

I’m happy to discuss further details about the project and answer any questions regarding payment options and earnings estimates if you contact me through Discord: Kreateer#9930.

I hope to hear from you soon! ^-^

The game jam ended December 1st, 2020. However I may contact you if I need an artist in future projects :)

Thank you for playing our game and thanks for the feedback! ^_^

Yeah, moving right and jumping at the same time felt a bit off, but as we were rushing to submit by the deadline we decided to leave it as it is, since it doesn’t really make the game unplayable, but it does make it harder >:D

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! :D

The game was made to be difficult, given the small amount of levels, so dying a lot was expected xD We had to rush to submit the game by the deadline, so we didn’t really tweak the darkness speed as much as we should’ve.

Thank you for playing our game and for the feedback! <3

Once the darkness picks up speed, you either need a speed boost or you must be careful and not stay too long in one spot. Either way, it is definitely beatable ;)

Thank you for playing and for your feedback! ^^

The Player only moves faster when you pick up a speed boost pickup and the effect lasts 5 seconds, so you can get some distance away from the darkness.

As they’ve worked with me on a recent project, I can personally attest to the great talent and flexibility mustachinator has showed me. Without them, my project would likely never see its release, so if you’re looking for a talented artist that’s fully able to make any idea of yours a reality in their own way, look no further from this guy! <3

We’re a team of five - 3 developers, 1 composer and 1 artist.

We’re looking for someone who knows their way around Godot to build levels using custom tilesets for our 2D runner/platformer game.

Contact me on Discord and we can discuss further details: Kreateer#9930

I’ve sent you an email regarding your post!

If you have a Discord account, please contact me there for further details (Kreateer#9930). :)

Hello!

I assume you found a team already, but in case you did not, please contact me on Discord - Kreateer#9930

Hello! We’re a team of four working on a side-scroller platformer game for the Game Off 2020 game jam and we’re in need of an artist who would be comfortable in drawing and animating 3 characters, making a few tilesets and other sprites like a health bar.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in doing, please contact me on Discord - Kreateer#9930

I’m looking for someone who would be interested in being the lead artist for a 2D game project as part of ‘Game Off 2020’, which is an annual month-long game jam. You’d be working with a team of four - 3 developers and 1 composer. We are really only lacking an artist to make our project actually look like a game.

Since it is a game jam, this is not an ad for paid work. Rather, it’s something being made out of love for videogames and for the sake of learning something new and meeting new people. It’s also a good opportunity for you to practice and/or do something you may not have done before, as well as potentially something to add to your portfolio/CV.

Specifically, I’m looking for someone who could draw in a darker, more solid look for our game. We’d prefer a pixel artist, but as long as your style fits with the tone of our game, that’ll work too.

Your job would be to draw and animate the characters (3 characters, one of which can be in multiple variants), make the few tilesets that we need and some other sprites like a prettier health bar.

We have a project board that holds plenty more details about our game, so if this caught your interest so far, you’re welcome to message me on Discord (Kreateer#9930) and we can discuss further details!

We’re looking forward to working with you! O/

I’m in a team of four for the first time! ^^ Organizing everything is a task of its own, but it’s fun to make a game together! :D

Hello!

We’re a recently-established team of four making a side-scroller runner/platformer game set on the Moon in the near future. Since our game prototype is nearly complete, we are in need of an artist that could make our game actually look the part.

Specifically, we are looking for an artist who can draw in a darker, more solid look for our game. The game was originally imagined in a pixel art style, but as long as your style fits with the tone of our game, that’ll work too.

I’m using Godot and I’m liking it far better than Unity.
