Thanks for trying out our game! I appreciate all the valuable thoughtout feedback!

We've spent a lot of time polishing the areas where it shows, unfortunately we ran out of time and a lot of the mentioned were not gotten to in the game jam version due to that.

The quest giver bug has been fixed since upload, the movement, attacks has been revamped and much more

Our post game jam version will definitely resolve everything listed here along with more content! Hopefully you will give it another playthrough when we do!

This is very helpful!
I have yet to play Metroid Dread but it's on my list of games to play when I have some time! I will definitely see how they handle the 2.5D situation.

Doors swinging away from the camera would probably be ideal, Thinking about making the enemies trigger the fade effect along with making the pillars thinner.

I'll look at the platforms in the 4th room and see if I can adjust them!

Thanks again for all the valuable feedback! Hopefully you'll enjoy the postjam version we are cooking up!

Thank you for trying our game and typing out such a detailed review! The team appreciates all the feedback listed here!

Character Art:
Nolly is our character artist and he really did an amazing job on those character portraits! It really adds a huge amount of charm to the game.
Cherry and Jeru also brought them to life with the 3D models and animations!

UI:
We are working on revamping it visually and functionally postjam which including "Item Obtained" toasts that pop in showing what items you received and how many

Map/Level:
The entire map layout/blockout was made by TajZ and the starter area was fleshed out and brought to live by myself.
I did work on trying to keep most everything out of the players view and the few things that are I tried to add a "fade" to them.

Movement/Enemies:

  • Movement for us was quite floaty/slidey and we have actually made adjustments to them already for the next update! They should feel a lot smoother soon!
  • We also are working on visual/audible feedback for attacking and being hit
  • Locking them to patrolling paths or platforms are planned!

Questions:
If you don't mind could you answer the following questions

  • What particular objects do you feel are the most blocking? (I know the doors are for me, and trying to find a solution for these)
  • What platform in the game were you having issues with?

Thanks for trying out our game! 😊

  • Audible and tangible feedback is something in the works!
  • UI interface is planned to be full revamped to remove those frustrating focus issues and allow it to be more usable.

That and much more is in the works and didn't make it into the Game jam build due to time restraints!

It does! We'll have to look into it and fix it post-jam. Thanks for trying to run our game though! 💖

Oh no! We did a lot of bug fixing too! 😭 If you don't mind answering what error did you get and version of Windows do you have?

Thank you! I appreciate all the play testing you have done with us!
You are great at breaking things 😂

Thanks for trying out our game!

There are actually a few bugs including that one that have been fixed already.

Waiting for the jam to unlock submissions and we can upload the latest version.

That is strange, we did have to change to to run DX11. Try running it in compatibility mode:

Step 1: Right-click ProjectTempo.exe

Step 2: Choose Properties and then go to the Compatibility tab.

Step 3: Check the option of Run this program in compatibility mode for and choose a previous operating system.

Thanks for the reply! I think we should be good. It only causes issues on game end.

Hello!
We were wondering if it is possible to extend this offer to anyone that need to fix a critical bug in their current version. We've already found 2 that may cause some issues.

This is a really fun game, reminds me of Metroid + Bullet hell

  • Great graphics
  • Great audio, music loop is very calming
  • Gameplay, platforming is very nice  and smooth,  wall jump is a bonus

Improve ops

  • Item indicator when pickup  (Sounds, flash of light, text, anything)
  • Pause menu that shows what items do (Show the ones that they have already seen)

I want bigger levels more enemies, jetpack

This is a very fun game, 100% recommend a play

The ferrets are very cute! I love the way they run!
The UI is very nice, reminds me of the Sims and Overcooked
I absolutely suck at the game, but I can see others would thrive and win.

Pros:

  • Lovely graphics
  • Great UI - Purchase menu is very nice
  • Animation for the ferrets are great
  • Tutorial level intro is fantastic
  • Too hard for my ferret brain

Improvement Ops:

  • Sound menu! Need to  control volume
  • Resolution menu , need to add windows mode as well
  • Zoom in and out to see the cute ferrets

Solid game 100% would recommend

Very fun game! Reminds me of No time to explain + Broforce!

Would highly recommend playing this game, barely scratched the surface!

Things I loved!

  • Platforming move is top notch, never felt like my character was doing something it shouldn't
  • Gunfire is great
  • Upgrade system existing is awesome
  • Physics is an awesome idea! Works really well

Improvement ops:

  • Sound settings!
  • Pause menu with sound settings
  • popup description showing what each upgrade does
  • weapon icon and name  maybe in the bottom for the weapon you have equip
  • make the weapon stay equipped between levels

Everyone should play this one!

Fun game! It's very hard, couldn't get past all the levels
Endless mode has an upgrades systems.

Improvement Ops:

  • Add social , credits to title screen corner
  • Add description to powerups
  • Togglable option to change pause / power up slowmo
  • Sounds menu needs real time feedback for changes, test button of sorts

Overall fun game!

Great game! Very hard levels at the end!
Had to use all my brain power. Very cute graphics, music is a nice loop, sfx are nice!

Maybe a smoke effect when landing and jumping. Additional tiles like water, grass, sand level would be cool.

Add the controls to the main menu or settings!

Great aesthetics! Super creepy, loved the way the faces moved toward you.

  • The UI needs some contrast
  • Need some creepy sounds for moving your piece or when you win/lose. Maybe creepy laugh, bone chattering

Overall love it

Great start on your development path! As others stated the audio noise for the enemy is quite annoying.

Would like to see more enemies spawn or NPCs/Newspapers. Game was quite short was looking for a few rounds.
WASD integration would have bene nice as well.

This has been a fun experience! I'm proud of how much we were able to get going with our limited schedules. Features that we weren't able to get to for the submission would have really fleshed out the game.
It was awesome to have our entire team meet for the first time on day 1 and get a project submitted! 💕

There are plenty of ideas and stuff I wasn't able to complete. I'm going to finish developing the missing features. Also working on much needed optimization.
