I glad you liked the game & aesthetic and appreciated the speed-up mechanic! Thanks for playing :)

I'm glad you and your friend liked it! The bouncing mechanic is actually a last minute bug that became a feature, lol! That was not the original design 🤫. And thanks for the suggestion - I definitely agree the sound of the note being "hit" could be integrated better or differently into the experience [edit]... unless you're actually talking about the visuals of the note - that actually would be cool too. Wow, didn't even think of that!
Hey all! Here's a link to my entry for those of you who want to procrastinate on that last minute polishing :P https://kzventures.itch.io/otk
The gameplay revolves around hitting the piano keys and having them collide with other keys to watch your score go higher and higher!
What's your high score? :D
Good luck with the final submissions! I recommend testing a build on itch soon so you can catch little bugs. For example:
- Left and Right Arrow Unicode Characters - this was not loading properly so you can see below I just hardcoded "<--" and "-->"
- GPUParticles2D - I'm using Godot 4, so I had to switch this to CPUParticles2D to run in the browser
Best of luck!
I really liked how the bullets were also affected by gravity! 😃
It took me a few tries (i.e. dies 💀) in the beginning to understand what was going on as I didn’t know what could kill me and what couldn’t. So, this could be highlighted a bit more explicitly
Also, after figuring out the gameplay, I “cheated” a bit and just stayed away from the middle of the map to shoot things. Maybe the player could have a stronger gravitational pull towards the sun so they can’t stay safe on the “sidelines”. Or, even shorter bullet life
Cool concept to explore more on!
I love the art style and how your sense of humor showed through the game. It gave me a few laughs!
Two small critiques:
- I suggest adding a visual indicator (maybe some black bars that transition in/out at the top & bottom of the screen) during the "listening-to-music" cutscene. I was confused/frustrated that I couldn't move and was unsure what the reason was until I figured out it must be cutscene
- I read the controls before starting the game. So, I was confused/frustrated when I couldn't jump or left-click in the "Hub World". Maybe it's worth adding a control silhouette to each of the mini games and the hub world, or simplifying the M/KB setup
I enjoyed how you had a variety of mini games too. Maybe with some help from the boss I could've got to 100%!
Yes! It was my first time packaging a game with Unreal, and I also felt like it was quite large!! Next time, I know there's some trimming that needs to occur
Thanks much for the feedback, endeva! The goal is you have 3 chances to match the color of:
- the pulsating ground, and
- the RGB scale in the menu
The check of the match happens when the player walks through the door, and the match has to be at least 80% to reach the win screen
