I... don't have the slightest clue what could cause this, or how to even begin figuring it out, since I can't test it. D:

a lot of the logic for opening doors and stuff is in level_logic.gd. also search for key_data.gd and door_data.gd

I haven't been working much on this recently, mainly because of lazyness + classes + I finally got back to an older project.

I'm down to take contributions that improve the editor's usability, there's a lot of stuff I haven't remotely gotten around to yet (like selecting multiple things, copy-pasting them, editing a door or key without having to remove them and place a new one, editor undo). And once I add different backgrounds and tiles I'd also be down to accept cool contributions there.

But as for game mechanics, I'm not very open to adding too many, unless it's something that seems like it'd have a lot of potential, or, unless it's some idea I had myself and thus am biased for :P. In principle, I'd rather have things that can't be achieved with the base mechanics, be hopefully achieved with complicated contraptions. And then only add a mechanic if it either simplifies a whole bunch of different and unrelated contraptions, or if it adds new capabilities in a way that makes sense and is hopefully simple to understand. For colors in particular, I think new ones aren't very appealing, since there's already so many, they'd have to be really special to be a good addition.

But who knows, maybe I'll change my mind on this stuff further into the project.

That being said, if you're really excited about an idea, you can always just add it and tell people to download your version of the editor to play your levels.

Eh, there's bound to be limitations to what kind of logic you can have in a single door/gate. Addding negative zero doesn't seem worth it just for sign constraints imo

yeah that's likely coming in the next update, haven't done much for them yet though, just been laying the groundwork

Yeah I realized what causes this, the code for making the new level is dumb and just uses the same level every time ..

what do you mean with the axis thing?

Hmm this might have the same root cause as another bug I wanted to fix

fixed in 0.4.0.0

I'm back now lol

My discord account has been falsely suspended for "being under 13", which obviously, I am not.

For those of you in the unofficial IWL discord server, until I sort this out please use the bug reports thread for bug reports and the feature requests thread for requests.

let me know if you figure out how to replicate the door hitbox thing

I could do the zero-copy door thing, but how does it make level design easier?

Last test:

(1 edit)

Hmm... what if I upload it manually? (ok, this one worked)

Testing if itch can share uncompressed images...

what did you do to get the bug? it's pretty much impossible to fix bugs if I can't replicate them on my end

neat!

Here.

It's based on this.

fixed both in 0.2.0.2

oh my god. how did I even win this lmao

btw you can set the level name in the level tab

Wait, I get the issue now, the problem is that it renders properly but doesn't actually work properly for -i copies, which I didn't realize until your bug report. Not sure where you think I got the keys mixed up though

You mean the 3i lock with -1i copies? 3i*-1i = 3, so it is what it's supposed to.

True that it doesn't update tho, I'll try to fix that.

"once you go back to the editor, the changes wouldnt be made"

wait, what is the point then??

also yeah, could add f5 as an alternative

Any feature ideas? do you want me to add function keys? ordinal numbers? should I redesign the entire editor UI? Tell me all about it. No promises though.
For real though, feel free to get the more "obvious" stuff out of the way, like the auto-run toggle, rebindable controls, being able to drag things around, etc. As well as anything else that you think would improve the user experience. Even wacky ideas like "I wanna be able to play levels without the editor UI still being there" (preposterous!)

Bugs are icky and gross so if you find any toss them in this sticky post where they can't escape! (make sure to grab them very gently so as to not harm the bug, otherwise I won't be able to fix it)

Hey, glad you like the editor!

Yes, I do plan to add extra gimmicks... but, I have yet to make a final decision on it. I won't go too crazy and add 50 different ideas though.

Those two levels - did you make the originals, or were they someone else's? Sorry, I'm not too informed on all the ktool levels.

About the issues you mentioned, yeah, it seems doors with pure outline or locks weren't immune to brown at all due to a bug, and doors with gold locks were immune to master keys even after being cursed. I'm not sure if there was anything else there. Thanks for letting me know!

Sure, here's one level I made
