We tried to make a WebGL but the input system won't work with multiple characters at once.

Bear in mind we hadn't had enough time due to this being our very first game jam and because we have a very demanding day to day work so we couldn't add the story part.

The premise of the game is that there's a necromancer student that wants a human corpse to be raised, but due to their incompetence, only farm animals are raised. Every time all your zombies die, a new zombie is added, so at first you control one zombie, then 2, 3, 4... until the necromancer has no mana left.

The WebGL didn't work with multiple characters simultaneously, only let you control one at a time, that's why we only could release it as a downloadable game.

The camera tries to follow all the active zombies so the player can control them all, but in future updates we will make that the camera only follows the more denser group of zombies, ignoring the ones that have been left behind.

We will for sure continue developing the game until it's done and we're planning on releasing it on mobile.

In the second level the upper part of the level is a challenge to get more chickens, and the level exit is underground (you'll need to reach the far right part of the level)

I'm glad it worked, please don't apologise, it's ok, your comment made me know I need to put the objective in a clearer way so it's not missed by the player. Thank you for your comment and for giving my game a new chance

Sometimes I wanted to take some height before dashing and jump like any other platformer and the jump button (space) sometimes did what I wanted and sometimes did nothing, I suppose I was too close to the end of the platform and maybe the game checked that as not in contact with it

I'm glad you liked it. About the bug, did you collect the minimum amount of brains required?

Controls:

  • WASD, arrow keys or left pad to move
  • Space, left mouse click or A to jump (chicken can double jump)
  • Shift, right click or B to Dash (sheep only)
  • Esc or Start to exit the game

well the first level was made as a show of the basic premise of the mecanics and the game itself and the second level was the real challenge, we hadn't have time to work on the game the full 10 days and it shows off. Anyway, thank you a lot for your comment and I'm glad that you liked it!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! Right now you're the champ of the board, I would love other people post their times, it would be very fun!

My best time was 82s but I don't count because I know how the levels are made ;)

The control was a bit frustrating, I think that's intended? quite a nice game so far, couldn't manage to finish I couldn't bare with the janky control of the character but if that was intended I can see the potential on it.

Phew that was harsh, all the grievness, I didn't expect to play a game like this when I saw the game jam theme. 5/5 story.

Now my tears are dry let's talk about the game, the first level is very slow, also, you can get somewhat stuck if in contact with the hands and jump, the slow debuff pile on each other. I personally would decrease gravity a bit because at this velocity, is difficult to estimate where you'll land in the platform part.

Great work!

I'll contribute with my own self promotion https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-jam-2022/rate/1543090

It's a very good looking game, I don't know if there is no end, but I think I reached the end (treasure room) but nothing happened, was that to be expected? With a little more development it can be a very good game

the aesthetics are very nice. I encountered some bugs as it wouldn't jump in some platforms but some bugs are to be expected, also I flipped my worm in some occasions and didn't know how to unstuck until I discovered that pressing R resets de worm, overall you did a nice work!

That's quite good, looking fordward to see how it evolves

Don't worry mate, as long as you are able to submit a game you'll have won, it's not the end result what matters, it's the journey and what can you learn about it.

We, for example, are a team of two, but we don't have enough time to produce all the art so for the environments and artwork we're using some free assets and we're making custom characters and enemies, but we don't have any level layout yet.

Cheers

We're going at a good pace, I'm almost done with the core features and I have an artist who is doing all characters and enemies art. We're making a platformer where the player controls multiple zombies at once
