I did see at least one [color] tag in there that was a remnant of you perhaps not rolling back the change completely :)

I seem to be constantly levelling up by doing almost nothing :D … but I assume this is just for test purposes and you’ll fine tune and balance that more later.
This level 77 goblin has so far managed to do nothing of use… except travel in a vent and get teleported outside. I then proceeded to glitch myself into falling off the bridge and into the cavern below (intentionally!), and then escaped the world and am now falling endlessly into the void :D My character is a rapidly disappearing blurry pixel on the screen as he keeps falling forever :)
Good to see another Godot developer :)
I played to the end, and enjoyed what you’ve done so far!
I like that I can toggle the map on, and leave it active whilst also playing the game. Not sure if that’s intentional, but if it isn’t I hope you see it as a ‘feature’ moving forward :P
Question: Is there a way to re-list the available exits? I couldn’t find a way to do so. Using “look” would describe the room again but did not include the list of exits/items below.
Suggestion: When exiting the first room, the description of the following room is rather long and requires that I scroll up to read from the beginning (it is off-screen by default due to how large the wall of text is). Consider increasing height of the text box, or other ways of better handling large text blocks? :)
The gameplay is very simple, straight-forward, and fun. There’s a large number of puzzle combinations you could do here, so the chance to expand this further is definitely available. Good job on building such a solid foundation for a game.
You’ve also done a good job of introducing new elements gradually, so as not to overwhelm the player but teach them how the game works in a natural way. I liked seeing the locked door and pressure plate get introduced.
I think the variety of things you’ve done with simple cards is ingenuous. (won’t give examples as they’re spoilers)
With such a simple tool, you’ve shown that the possibilities are endless and I feel that adds a nice bit of charm to your game and gives it character. This is unique and fun!
“Definitely the end of the map” is a cool touch as well :D … so many little pieces of attention to detail in here that I keep finding.
I want to see where this game goes after the game jam!
Nice game! I love 2D Zelda style gameplay.
Game runs well on Firefox for walking and rolling, but pressing SHIFT to attack sends me to a black screen! The same thing happens on Chrome. The GX Games version does work for attacking though.
Found a bug: The game crashes with message “Variable gamePausedImageSpeed not set before reading it”.
How to reproduce:
- Start game,
- Press ESC for pause menu,
- Press ENTER on the ‘Continue’ text,
- Press S to go down to ‘Main Menu’ text,
- Press ESC to exit pause menu,
- Game crashes with the above error message.
Small note: I think I got the exact same 3 ingredients in a row for 2 different customers. It may be worthwhile adding a brief check in there to prevent that (e.g. if the randomly generated list of requirements is an exact match from the last round, just re-roll the randomiser again before showing the player).
Suggestion: Give us a ‘Copy to Clipboard’ button for our scores after each night so we can more easily share them. Or a dedicated screenshot button (we can take screenshots any time of course, but a dedicated button in-game reminds the player of the possibility and subtly encourages them to share their scores with others).
Suggestion: More randomisation with the feedback, especially when they’re happy. At the moment every single customer likes to say “OMG, amazing!” :D … Perhaps, you could even customise the feedback based on the character. Give them each their own way of talking and reacting to the same situations? (fantastic, great, good, spilled, too slow, etc)
Bug/Issue: When I close the bar for the night, a random character wanders out and says “You just spilled my drink everywhere!” (in the background, behind the scores). I assume you’re aware of this one but thought I’d flag it here for you.
The mixing of ingredients made sense, and I felt that it very quickly became quite logical. I think I’ll make a counterpoint here to what many others are saying and my thought is that the mixing was at a pretty reasonable difficulty level.

… I’m never going to escape this place, am I? 😭 (but I’ll enjoy my eternal torment!)
Nice tunes :)
Fun game :)
One suggestion for future improvement, would be to show some visual progress when spreading, so you see it spread on thinly at first, then more and more until the final jam-covered slice. I was a little unsure if I was doing it properly at first due to the lack of visual feedback (other than the knife sliding over the toast).
This could become an odd little niche simulator game on Steam, if you decided to take it that far :P I’d probably wishlist it, too.
This was an interesting game.
I liked how it seemed like you had to catch the void when it was smaller for an easier fight? The larger ones seemed to have more enemies. That’s a nice touch.
Not sure if there’s an ending in this version, but I died so many times anyway… glad for the unlimited respawns :P
I always thought game jams were 24-48 hours. I think Ludum Dare was my first knowledge of them existing, about 10+ years ago.
This jam was the first time I’ve heard of a game jam lasting 2 weeks, so it actually felt achievable to enter. Since then I’ve discovered that many of them have longer timeframes like this.
This is the first game jam I’ve participated in. It’s also the first game I’ve ever made and released publicly! The other two people in our team were in a similar situation, it’s their first jam as well.
