This was fun! I liked how simple the controls were and the mechanics were very straight forward. That being said... I got stuck on the tutorial for a minute or two before realizing you could double jump. I honestly think I took more time on that than any of the other three levels 😭. I like teaching players controls & mechanics implicitly though, so kinda just a me issue. Other than that hiccup this game was a blast!

Really awesome game! The visuals were super polished and the controls felt really nice. I have a few suggestions but they're pretty nitpicky:
Some of the time the boss would spawn directly on top of me, maybe I'm just super unlucky but this was pretty sad because it ended a lot of my runs. Maybe make him not do damage/attack until some period after he fully materializes?
Maybe make a neutral dash input go in the direction the player is facing (this is really subjective).
Super fun game and I can't believe you made this in such a short time!!!

Thank you for the feedback! Would you be able to expand on what exactly is uncomfortable about the controls? I had a friend playtest at some point, and he later told me that he thought WASD and Z were the only controls (obviously very uncomfortable) did this happen to you? Or, is it more so that a keyboard only game is uncomfortable for you than the controls themselves were?
Maybe we should have made it more obvious, but the intended controls were something like: left hand on WASD and right hand on J for shoot or right hand on KEYS, left hand on Z for shoot.
Regardless, I understand where you're coming from since I come from a shooter background and a lot of my friends would rebind "shoot" to some mouse button even in a keyboard only game. Thank you again for the feedback!

I loved this!!! I thought the art was super well done and I liked all the little touches like having multiple freeze animations and such; very polished.
