Hello! Sorry you're having trouble. It should work. At the end of the prologue, or chapter, save it in any slot. Next time you come and "Load Existing Race", click on the slot and it should bring you back to where you left off. It only works at the end of each chapter. Will implement any time next time I update. I have not had messages about it from others and it works on my end (just loaded two of my files) so it definitely works.

Probably not for a while as I'm revising both chapters, adding and taking out some things pretty much everywhere based on people's comments and suggestions so I might or might not update that right away when I'm completely satisfied. It will depend on how long it takes me but I'm really looking forward to writing Chapter 3!
Thank you for this!! I'll have to double proof next time, but it's so easy to miss when I'm the only one proofreading and testing. I'll probably have to get some beta testers later on when it gets more complicated.
As for the hair thing, I hate it too...but I didn't want to make a whole bunch of passages just for the character customisation but maybe it'll be easier. Harlowe unfortunately doesn't allow some things I would be able to do on SugarCube but I've gotten used to Harlowe and it's difficult to switch now. 🥴
That shouldn't be an issue since I simply use $hairlength and $haircolour for the variables so it should show what you chose. The only way it could be an issue is that you didn't move forward with your choice and being that it showed "very short" and "blonde" hair which are my first two choices, that is most likely the issue. If it was a coding issue, it would have most likely shown 0 so the fact that it showed you hair length and hair colour could only mean that you might have forgot to change the choices. Let me know if it happens again, but I haven't gotten issues of this so I hope that's the case. Thank you so much for playing! ☺️☺️
I have read everything you wrote. This chapter was a rough draft so to say. I have been rewriting it and currently just updated the newest version (and hopefully the final before moving on to chapter 2).
In the revision, I wanted to focus on giving the player more of a say, so hopefully the new version is more up to your taste. I did not add ethnicity nor anything that I might not use in the story or be that relevant but if I do see it to work or need it, I 'll definitely add it.
Moving forward, I do want to give the player more choices over their reactions. I'm a newbie to coding and writing IFs so that might be easy to see. I am trying, though, so I hope I can only improve. Saves should be working now, too!
Glad you enjoyed it, and happy you're here!
Thank you! :)
And sorry to get back to you so late.
Saves were supposed to work, but it seems I made a mistake so right now it doesn't. Hopefully, I get it to work with the next update. Ch 1 is being revised with more choices, so it'll need to be replayed anyway in order for those choices to carry over. Sorry about that!
