Nice work! I really enjoyed this! I think it's very clever how the sense of humor is embedded into the gameplay (e.g. fetching coffee for people or taking painkillers to gain health) which makes the tasks feel meaningful rather than it feeling like a laundry list of things. Just one comment about the UI - perhaps if there's a way to progress dialog with the keyboard (since the game is most played on the keyboard), I think that'd help with the seamlessness of transitioning in/out of dialog!
Hey thanks for your feedback! We appreciate the compliments! Regarding the jump, you actually can move mid air although the movement is reduced. Perhaps this can be further tweaked to make it more noticeable. And yeah, falling down does feel bad especially if it's a long fall. Something we'll need to address in a future update!
I really like the visuals! Unfortunately the game seems to crash every few minutes (seems to happen when I click a character then click on a tile to move) and I'm not able to see how it plays out to the end. In any case, I could see the strategic gameplay elements being fleshed out to make a compelling, atmospheric thinking game!
Hello, I liked how the game opened with little text and lots of art! Once the game started, I did have some trouble manipulating my character as there was a noticeable contrast in movement speed vs attack speed. Perhaps turning down the movement speed and quickening up the attack could better marry the two together!
Really well done! The action is very satisfying - the shooting, camera shakes, enemies reacting to damage, etc. are all very good!
IMO the difficulty was a bit high but perhaps with some tweaks to character movement that could be mitigated? Using Z to lock character movement was a bit awkward for me - have you considered having the mouse as the direction for shooting?
All in all, this was really fun. I'd be happy to see further progress on this!
What a weird little game! Despite the experimental direction, you managed to create a game that works well. I really appreciate the way you were able to telegraph to the player that the boss was coming without relying on conventional methods such as flashing sprites or exclamation marks. The body modifications were also strange enough to keep me curious to playing through to the end. Really well done!
