Thanks Farlander!  :-)

Can't find you on Discord, are you on a particular server?  I might have sent you a friend request, if your username is reditch (or someone completely random if it's not). :-)

Hey RedItch, I've just joined the jam and also looking for a team.  I'm a composer so can create suitable mood music.  Let me know if you'd like to team up and if you've found a programmer.

Hi all,  I know it's quite a while before this jam gets started but I'm a composer looking for a team.  I can also do sound design; I have my own recording gear.  I've done a couple of jams but I have a background in film composition.  Here are some examples of my work:

Yes, I seemed to do everything other than ‘talk’! 🤭 I started again (couldn’t find my saved version), the first thing I did was ‘talk’ and I got the book.

I started again, so I’ll try that. 👍

Hi G0blin

I checked, it’s not in my inventory.  I took some screenshots, I’ll see if I can add them.

Hi G0blin, I was getting into your game when I think I hit a snag; I went into the library and the manager told me to ‘consult the book I gave you’, without actually giving me anything. They kept saying ‘consult the book’ when I didn’t have it and I couldn’t find it.  I will see if I continue to play and see how far it lets me go. I was enjoying the detail of the descriptions!

Hi Zeth

I want to get further into this game (especially as it has a cat) but I have struggled to access it as I use a Mac.  I do have a virtual Windows machine on my computer but it's excruciatingly slow, and then trying to get the Glulxe to work on it.... I eventually got there, but then it froze on me and I just couldn't go any further.  I will try again if I have time, but it was more labour intensive than if it had be able to be run in the browser.  How it looked in Glulxe as well, I don't know if it was just my machine, but the text was pretty small, as were the graphics.  I have been enjoying seeing graphics as part of text-based games so it I would be nice if they could be bigger.  I didn't get very far, but I wanted to go further as the storyline intrigued  me.

I didn't think to kiss the frog!    :-D  The music did loop, but there was a large silence between the music playing and I thought maybe alternating with a soft string/synth pad (or two) might just help to break it up.  That said, it's been noted that constant music can be fatiguing and middleware like FMOD allows you to build silences into games whilst you're playing.  Anyway, just something I noticed and it's completely subjective, of course.  I will have to play it again if I have time and see if I can get further.

No sorry, didn’t know about the transcript thing. If I have time I can have another go and do that. I didn’t do what needed to be done with Icarus and the scared lady (can’t remember her name). But I seemed to bypass them and finished anyway. I also didn’t map it, I might do that if I try again.

Hi EastBooks, I enjoyed playing your game!  I thought it was funny and quirky and I liked the simple graphics.  I made it all the way to the end, the hints were just enough, especially for the riddle in the last part.  Thanks for sharing and good luck with the competition!

Hi Manonamora, I really enjoyed playing your game!  I think I missed a few things but I seem to have reached the end successfully anyway.  There were a few typos but I really liked how you could click the link and it gave you what you needed, rather than having to try a whole bunch of verbs to see what works (which is where I tend to get stuck, I run out of verbs to try!)  Well done, I had fun playing this.

Hi Dravianis, well done!  I liked how you used the red and green text to show what wasn't allowed/feasible and what was, that was useful.  Also, enjoyed the sarcasm!  :-D

Hi XEevee, I really liked the 80s nostalgia of this game, with a modern-sounding music track.  Being a composer, I would have liked to have heard a couple more tracks alternating with this one, rather than just one and then silence, but that's just me.  :-)   I liked the graphics and the font was in line with the nostalgic look.  I got stuck though, and ran out of verbs and ideas to progress, so couldn't talk to anyone other than the dragon and couldn't progress past the cave entrance.  Maybe a couple of extra hints might be good, but  I did like the responses when you tried to do something crazy, like 'eat frog'.  :-D   I enjoyed it and wish I could have gone further.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!  I'll have to make some more and I'm glad you noticed the music, that was the whole reason I made the game.   😊  ❤️

Thank you! 😊 I’m looking forward to making the next one!

Hi Dr Zilla!

Thanks for your message.  I've recently joined a jam team but I'd be interested in collaborating at a later date.  Let me know if you're interested.

Take care

Loz

Hello, I am looking to get into composing music for games.  I have a film composition background and creepy/scary music is one of my favourites to compose!  If any team needs a composer, let me know!  - Lauren
