Every week, you need to visit him in your room to boost up romance points. From there on, make sure to get every Historian secret (there's three of them) and choose to forget marriage and romance altogether at the Matchmaker's meetings. Those should help you get on his path eventually.

During his meeting, you have to pick "I would advise you against telling women you find the idea of having a wife limiting and a bother" and head to the training room after. If you have the correct version to eventually friendzone him, he will be seen yelling at a servant which awards +5 courage and manipulation (important to end up reforming him in the end!).

To prevent being rivals with him, you will have to reach for a high 450 persuasion but I hope this helps solve your problem!

If you want to end up romancing him, at the matchmakers, you must ask about your other options and Jarrod should be one of them. To proceed, you must keep insisting that you love Jarrod and at the end of the meeting, you can select him as the path you wish to pursue.
