I imported the sprite sheet, and sliced it using the auto slice thing, and then I adjusted it. Made the pivot the bottom center, and then dragged the frames created by Unity into the scene so it would make the animation.

I’m pretty sure that the frames are in the correct order, I’ll double check though. And all the Unity settings are default, but I’ll still post screenshots of my sprite editor, but I’m not sure what you mean by “showing what I have configured”? What should I screenshot to make things easier?

Here’s an example of what I mean.

The animation is playing on the left. My player object already has a down and up animation looping as intended.

The animation itself is fine. I use Clip Studio Paint to animate. My question is related to Unity itself, when I try to slice and put my sprite sheet into Unity, it looks messed up. I messed around with the pivots for a few hours, but no dice.

Hello, I am trying to make sprite sheets to test my character animation and import them to Unity, but they keep turning out terrible. Well, the first one turned out fine. But that is because its a front facing animation. The left and right sprites are turning out horribly, and I don't know how to fix it, I have been at it for hours. I am not sure if I am just doing the pivot points wrong.

Here is the sprite sheet I am using. (except transparent in Unity)

no problem, thank you for contacting me regardless!

It’s not on here, but I usually use Clip Studio Paint for art. However I’m not sure if I should switch to Krita for animations. Unity is my preferred engine for games.

Hello, when you say a 3D character artist, do you need someone who can 3D model, because unfortunately I don’t have a lot of experience in that. It’s something I want to change. However, I have experience creating model sheets!

NEW JAMMER HERE!!!
1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?

Hi I’m Madipup, aka Madi! I’m a digital artist of nearly 10 years, and game design is a huge passion of mine.

2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?

I have never participated in a jam before, and I plan on making this my first one! I want to get experience making a game on my own, instead of constantly procrastinating and being intimidated by programming.

3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?

Undertale, Stardew Valley, and FEZ are the games that made me really want to become an indie developer. They sparked something in me that no other games made me feel.

4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?

I have a little bit of experience with Clickteam Fusion. I made a small game on the Google Play store. However, the engine I want to use and I love is Unity.

5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!

I am passionate about the way games can inspire others to learn and make their own games. I want to be a light in someone’s life. I also love the way games can make someone feel. It’s like an interactive story book in my opinion.

6. What are your goals for this game jam?

My goals and intentions are to gain experience and complete my first game within a deadline. I want to move onto other jams and projects and continue to keep learning after this.

Hi, would you mind if I added you for future reference or just to chat? I am a game artist and aspiring dev looking to meet new people in the industry, and would like to talk!

thank you very much! I appreciate the help!

Hi, I’m Madipup! I’ve been a digital artist for nearly 10 years, with some experience with animation. Most of my experience is with commissions doing social media icons and character illustrations. However, I am extremely passionate about game design and am focused on shifting gears into becoming an artist for games. I wish to grow and gain more experience in the game industry, so I can become an art director/game designer someday. I have my own dream games, but my programming experience is lacking. I am currently learning Unity and C# and aspire to graduate from being a concept artist, into being a fully fledged designer in the future.

Check out my work on ArtStation! https://madipup.artstation.com/

Hello there, I am interested in your project as a concept artist and would like to know more, I sent you a friend request on Discord :)

I am looking to put together a solid art portfolio for game design. What do people look for? I mostly focus on character concept art, and promotional art. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
