You are completely right. Coyote time is the seconds from a ledge that you still can jump - there is also another one that i'd have liked to implement called jump buffering - that's when you want to jump continuously, so the game considers your jump button press even when you're still on the air (a few miliseconds before touching the ground from a previous jump).
Those are two things that I already set on learning how to implement efficiently to have under my belt for whenever I want/need to build another platformer.

Thanks a lot for reviewing! And the feedback for the transitions between abilites is completely on point here.
Thank you also for the kind words! It means a lot.

This did it for me. Amazing experience.

Jokes aside, nice platforming, nice twist in the end... congratulations!

I was on a stroll with the perfect drinks but I decided to snap on the vampire dude :D

Amazing idea, I had a blast playing it - and the music and art are amazing too. I big contender for the win, in my honest opinion.
Congratulations on the submission!

Congratulations! Fantastic take on the theme with the shadow mechanic - I loved the use with the different puzzles (the fireflies part was super nice). I really liked the sense of urgency at the end.
My only constructive take would be to try and change the camera on the shadow form to take the character more on the center of the screen, for example on the fireflies part it would've made it a bit more approachable given that you would be able to see where the ending ledge is.
Other than that, I loved it and wanted to play more. Keep it up!

And again, congrats on the submission!

I had a great time wandering around the space ship with a great Alien vibe - I even got a super sword and was about to use the shadow cube when I ran out of escape means and the alien got me good.

Love the idea! Congratulations on the submit!

Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback! It's super valuable to me. I see your point with the inputs and the speed - I feel this highlights what other feedback has also raised, that I should've playtested this and try to get other people to test it. So it's a big learning for me on future attempts: save some time and get other people to test your game!

Absolutely Loved it. Loved the palette, loved the adaptation for the theme using the light as a constraint and the shadow as the place to use the dash power, the combination of elements... everything. You have my admiration! Congratulations on a great submission!

I like the direction and the art design - i agree it's clearly Undertale inspired :)
One thing: I got beaten by the one-eyed-dog and on the "try again?" scene I could not click on the yes or no button, and z also did not work.

Nevertheless, nice submission! Congrats!

I love first person dungeon crawlers, and I really like the alchemy approach - but I agree that the game does not let you think at all. You start getting bludgeoned to death by the first enemy, once you kill it you go straight to the next - I could not check the alchemy features with attention because I did not want to die.

I managed to cook some health potions but the second mushroom just kept regenerating and killed me.

Good approach! Keep it up!

Nice concept! I survived for almost 5 minutes before i got swarmed by the creepy hands.
One thing (perhaps is on my end) - i had a bug when trying to throw ingredients or wood with the character facing right. The ingredients flew straight left. This made it a bit hard to keep up with the dynamic.

Other than that, really cool application of theme :D keep it up!

Congrats!

EDIT: I just read in the comments about the mouse - aiming feature - sorry i raised it as a bug! Should've read the instructions first

I really liked it :) nice little platforming action. I liked the wall climbing mechanic as well.
One thing: I went through the game and then saw your description: I completely missed the dash power on my first run. Good thing is not super mandatory!
Congratulations on the submission! Keep up the good work!

For your peace of mind, i played it (and loved it) on a mac using chrome.
Really nice idea and super smooth execution. Congratulations!

Love the setting - the ambient is really well stated.
I had a nice time and that's remarkable cause I suck at 3d controls.

Congratulations! Keep it up!

I can totally agree that sound is the least taken care aspect - I'm no expert around sound and i rushed stuff around it. That being said - I did not add sound for the text at the beginning... that sounds weird. Can I ask you what OS and browser? So I can playtest and learn from it :)
Thanks a lot for taking the time of playing and leaving a comment!

Thanks a lot for reviewing! I agree, in hindsight the one-at-a-time constraint seems too harsh. I feel like this highlights more than nothing that my game lacks a lot of playtesting.

I truly appreciate your time testing it and the review. I'll keep learning from all of this.

All the best!!

EDIT: sorry, I answered from bed kinda sleepy - one quick comment: the "cover" ability depends on keeping the C button pressed. That's perhaps why it's not working or turning on and off... sorry, probably another design flaw 😓
Thanks again for playing and reviewing.

I loved it! Great work with the theme - i really liked moving the blocks to block the light.
I struggled a bit mixing the dashing and the shooting (loading the shot each time) - but i still really enjoyed it.

Congratulations, keep up the great work!

Beautiful work. From the art, to the music, to the playability (I developed some serious speedrun vibes in some parts, which I love in a platformer).
I also liked how some of the features sometimes worked in our advantage and sometimes not, like the springs and the potion of explosion.

Congratulations!

To whom it may concern in the Brotherhood: I hope this message finds you well. After achieving world domination for the Brotherhood of the Flame, I must confess that I feel the need to abandon the Brotherhood to join another must supreme one... The Goofy Guys. We'll take over the world!

Congratulations on an amazing work! I really enjoyed playing it - and I have not played Papers Please so now I'll add it to my list!

Thank you very much for trying it and for the kind words!  <3

Thanks a lot for trying it!
Yes, it has happened to me with other godot games as well. Luckily you were able to try it!

This is absolutely beautiful. A lovely take on the fighting genre, with great usage of the themes. Congratulations Team!

Congratulations team! I had a nice time playing though the game, and love the characters (specially Umbra!)

Loved the shadow transferring momentum dynamic.
Congratulations!

I laughed my a** off with the sounds 😂
I really like the mechanics and the take on the theme! Congratulations on the submission!

I really enjoyed the dynamic and can see the idea totally working.
I didn't understand if I could produce more than the initial 10 plants, so I always lost at the 3rd wave or so.
Nevertheless, congratulations on the submission! Really good work <3
I also worked solo so I understand the ordeal 😂

Beautifully done! I really like the mechanics also <3
I got bit by the dog at the end 😂
Congratulations!!

Congratulations! Really nice done! I liked the take on the elements and the puzzles you can build around them.

I believe I got to the end. Amazing take on the alchemy theme, and love the visuals, very early FF <3 also, the Glyph rooms resembling crystal rooms.
Congratulations!!

Good effort, keep it up!! <3

Loved the pixel art! Did you draw all the sprites?
I also agree that it's a really clever take on the theme. Congratulations!

Really nice! I liked the vibe and the puzzles. Congratulations!

I really enjoyed it! I wanted it to last more 😁
I'm a sucker for platformers. Congrats on the submission!
Feel free to review mine!

Kudos for the accomplishment, team! You did an amazing job bringing mmo to the table.
I really enjoyed leveling a bit in Umbra Arise. Hats off!

Really nice team! Congratulations to all.
Even if you stress the "rough draft" part, it's really amazing what has been accomplished! I really enjoyed my time traveling through space 😁

Super interesting take! I had a rough time trying to reveal the different worlds with the lights, but I really enjoyed it 😁
Congratulations on the submission!

I really liked it! The fighting dynamic is entertaining.
I'm curious about what do the 3 colored numbers under the life bar mean - I suspect they are related to the kind of transmutations you can do and how it affects you shoot power. I got some pretty cool effects from it.
Great work! 😁

Amazing take and really fresh! I don't remember a game like this.
As said, the puzzles were the right amount of difficult, thus the solving was rewarding.
I really liked it! Congratulations!

Amazing submission! Really liked the approach to transmuting by cards and the little puzzle side of trying to think the order to use them.
I agree that the only downside is that is a bit cumbersome to equip cards, but once you get accustomed to it it's not that big of a deal.

If you have the time I'd really appreciate if you give a try to my submission to the Jam! https://morrigames.itch.io/nature-dash

All the best!

Beautiful! I really liked the vibe and the alchemy mechanics
