Really great game, shame its not available in browser then it would get more attention. I recommend people give this one a go. Gameplay and design is great, not on theme really at all but whatev, and it definitely needs to be better balanced.
Definitely need an explanation somewhere, I see theres a tutorial thats unfinished but you could just add text to the description freely. Not a fan of the random cards and limited shops, my second game I got only 1 metal and every recipe required metal and never got another in a shop, Id recommend for gamejams to be easier than you think. Also roads are too expensive, I think 2 rock and a wood would have been better.
Overall though, I think you got a good game on your hands that you could expand on into a legit game, the game loop was solid.
Oh I never even thought of that. I might revisit this later and allow custom keybinds but I dont think I can now cause of the rating period. Im not sure if its possible on YOUR 60%, but some keyboards allow holding the fn key at the bottom right and using the keys immediately to the left as arrow keys. Hopefully that works, Ill try and update it later.
Love the artwork you guys really killed it there, issue is I didnt see any controls and had to faceplant my keyboard to find them lol; I suggest editing the page to include the controls. I couldnt find a pause button or way to leave the game, and on the GMTK level my guy wouldnt shrink all the way. I went back a level shrunk and continued but was able to grow in the small spaces and got stuck big. I also got stuck a couple times shifting sizes exactly when I hit the hitbox to swap rooms, I would be in the right but the camera would pan over to the left. I hope you guys continue on it outside of the game jam, got some great assets!
Good audio and visuals, but there wasnt enough in the maze concept to keep me engaged. Having to go back through the maze to find a pickup I missed was more frustrating than anything. I do like the movement and theme, just need something to make moving around more engaging. Just not enough ups to make up for the down of backtracking. Maybe a minimap that filled in past your screen so you can make better choices on the path?
