Pigeon with Guns by Gurkus (itch.io)

Fight through a proceeduraly generated dungeon, battle a variety of foes and face of against the boss in his chamber. Collect weapons and gadgets along the way and arm your pigeon to the theeth. A typical entry to the roguelike genre.

This is my first try in game developement, constructive Feedback is very appriciated:

well returned the favor

Great idea using schrödingers cat for the theme. Was excited as soon as I saw the title. The travel between the two worlds feels very clean and the mechanics the two different dimensions bring are interesting.

Audio is very responsive. Every shoot, every moving block(btw, how the level builds itself looks cool) gives off a sound. The soundtrack that plays throughout though got on my nerves a bit.

Two things that held the entry back in my opinion:

-The movement. The duration of turns and steps are a bit too. This, added to the fact that one has to press the button over and over again didnt feel right to me. The player should beable to hold the button to contnuosly move forward.

-Death. There should be a checkpoint. getting set back to the beginning sucks, plus the slow movements makes it extra tidious to get back where you were. Once I died I didnt know what was hitting me and once I found out it was already to late because I turned so slowly.

Overall great implementation of the theme, good sound design and puzzles, though movement could be improved.

Great asthetic and a over all goodlooking game. Different interesting enemies and I liked the idea of one haand heals, the other attacks. Audiowise the game could provide a bit more feedback for things like steps, interacting with barrels and doors, punches and taking damage. Allthough in the beginning the combat system for me was mostly button spamming, it got more interesting when the enemies gained more health.

Thanks, glad you took good care of the "kratos looking guy". Thanks for the feedback. Not sure what you mean with strafing but moving backwards is something I definately should have added, dont know why I never thought about it. Originial idea was for the player to only be able to move forwards, because he identifies as a shark, which can only move forwards, though that idea was scratched. Im not pleased with the combat, it was preety much an after thought, because I wasnt sure if a fight system is needed for jam submissions. Could have really put more time into that. Im hoping to improve and use the things I learned in this jam for the next on later this year.
