Oml I love the look of this game. The UI looks so clean as well. I know there wasn't a lot of sfx, but I thought the ambient noise really set the tone well.

Really cool entry, I would love to see this taken forward, I would definitely play it.

Great asthetic and a over all goodlooking game. Different interesting enemies and I liked the idea of one haand heals, the other attacks. Audiowise the game could provide a bit more feedback for things like steps, interacting with barrels and doors, punches and taking damage. Allthough in the beginning the combat system for me was mostly button spamming, it got more interesting when the enemies gained more health.

I like the style of the game and i really love the simplicity! It would be nice to experience it in full screen with smooth animations, great entry!

I do very much love the graphical esthetic of this game! It’s a very fun idea that it’s representative of something drawn in a notebook! The game plays wonderfully and, for the most part, everything is pretty clear to understand.

Few thoughts though…

  • I did not understand that the barrels were checkpoints. The idea is cool, but there was no visual indication that’s what they were. I think even a small message on screen saying “checkpoint saved” or something similar would have made their purpose much clearer.
  • Having secret walls is very awesome (and, again, great style in the minimap), but perhaps the secret walls should have been marked somehow so, once discovered, they stand out a little from the other walls. Maybe put a little “S” or something in that walls square.
  • I think it would have been cool if the story of the game somehow tied into the esthetics of the game. Visually it looks like a notebook drawing… maybe the story should be presented like a brainstorm of some kind (something someone would use a notebook for). Just a thought, though.

Over all, a really excellent game! Great job! Almost forgot… Here is the link to me playing your game during my stream :)

Very nice game with a cool look. Saw it on stream, but also gave it myself a try. Punching my way though papers wizards, ogres and barrels was quite fun. The timing with the block is kinda hard "to get" at the start, but once you play often enough against an enemy type you get the timing, haha. Its cool to upgrade the fists with time, and with the monsters respawning, grinding a bit is possible too, to make it easier.

Very enjoyable experience! :)

I absolutely love the aesthetics! I think I would have prefered that the walls also were grey pencil color for consistency but that might just be me.

The game plays really well and I had a fun time crawling around punching baddies :)

Great job!

+1 for the great looking map.

I saw the light of day. I had little doubt the game would look good, and it did, it looked very good in fact, but it was also pretty fun to play. Movement is good and combat is fun, sure there's not ton of variation to the combat but with such a length it was fine.

Nice art and an interesting combat style. Found it odd how the end doesn't actually end the game but other than that no complaints.

Thank you. Here is the explaination: since there is no saving feature in the game, I prefered not ending the game so the player can continue playing if he wanted to continue exploring the dungeon or upgrading the character stats :)

Really nice entry! Easy to understand and with a unique aesthetic. I love how everything is just arrow keys. Sound effects for fighting and the monsters would be nice to add.

What a beautifully well done entry!

I love the art style, very unique. Overall, just an incredibly well put together little adventure.

I’d play a full version of this game <3

Lovely art, it took a bit for me to understand combat but I eventually did

I've enjoyed your game, it was very aesthetically pleasing, like you're playing these games on paper on a break with your friends in school. Finished it in one run after I get a grip on a fight mechanics.

One thing to note is that on Safari it loads really slow and there's no music, but works well on Firefox on Windows though.

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play the whole game :)

Sorry about the music on Safari. I didn't had time to fix it before the line. It will be patched in the post jam release ^^

Nice to hear! I used another machine to check out the music. Did some hardcore monster farming in a room with mimics to get gold for upgrades :)

Nice artwork and a very unique way to visualize a dungeon crawler.

Super well put together. I think the red upgrades are overall a lot better than the green one but I may be missing something, loved what you did with those illusory walls and how you built the dungeon around their use

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

Green and Red powers can work together since the green refill red gauge (plus some life). But I think you are right, I will probaply ballance that again post jam.

The art style really brings me back to doodling in my notebook during class, and drawing out game ideas as a kid. :)

Developer(+2)

Thank you! This was the intended effect ;)

My first idea was to have statistics in the form of  school grades but I did not had time to push it that far for the jam :)
