Thanks Tubby!  Praise from the great brothers is humbling and very encouraging indeed.  As I've said elsewhere in the thread, now that time's not limited, I may work on improvements, in particular getting in some proper gameplay.  Awesome meeting you guys through this jam!

Thanks Jern!  Appreciate the kind words, buddy.  I might keep working on it, and get some fun gameplay into it too.   Thank you for running this Jam!  Really glad I took part, I learned a lot, made something new, and my gamedev energy was reinvigorated!

Hahaha thanks Omony.  Yeah I put 90% of time and effort into getting that B-Movie vibe, and the remainder into trying to get a little bit of gameplay into it before the deadline.  Time management issues!  Haha.

Thanks Occular Malice!  Yeah I need to work on the Kaiju's pathfinding a bit!

Awww thanks Kilted, so glad you had fun buddy.  And thanks for the detailed post - so valuable to see the things you enjoyed.  Thanks a lot buddy.  I need to go back and give The Blob a better playthrough now that I'm back from the beach!

Haha you're not a bad influece at all.  That's the kind of feedback we all need and like to hear!  A couple of you have said it, so I will do eet!

Coming soon to an itch near you

Thanks buddy, kind words there!

Thanks for playing, Falinere, and thanks for your words and thanks for taking the time to comment!   Really nice to hear you appreciated the work I put into the sound.  Yeah, the AI and gameplay were somewhat left until later, but I'm really glad I got finished what I did.  I might keep working on it .. not sure yet :)

Great work guys!  I wish there were other people playing when I tried out the multiplayer.

Great to see how you used what you've learned on UHG, Clay! Bravo.

Cute stylized look to the graphics - I liked that.

Music was pretty decent too!

Didn't like it being so dark that I couldnt see where I was going, or even if I was moving.

I got stuck on a pebble in the dark and then died, lol :)

Reminded me of Journey of the Prairie King from Stardew, hehe :)

Very nice work!  Skill tree implemented! That's a lot of work right there.  Really good combat system for a jam game.  In the boss fight I seemed to stop taking damage eventually, but that was alright with me, haha! :D

Great job overall, and congrats on finishing a game!

Nice one!  Took me a minute to figure out how to play. Nice retro-game kind of feel.  Everything works as it should, I like the cooldowns on the various traps, and the fact that the snail gets faster.  Good 8-bit track too.  Well done!

Was fun for a minute, then it crashed.  But some good stuff in there, good concept and sounds, smooth movement, well done.

Restaurant at the End of the Universe reference detected.  Well played Sir, lol!

Hi Tubby!

This one was certainly the most amazing looking and sound for mine!  Fully like a AA or AAA release in those aspects - I was blown away.

Unfortunately I couldn't get mouse or keyboard working properly, and I dont have a controller atm.  I did eventually figure out how to get the car to move with keyboard, but the camera angle was terrible and couldnt be changed.  Still - got to see a little of the track, and it was really nice.

Great looking car and physics, crowd, effects etc.  SO much potential!

Hi Robots.  Thanks for playing my game!  Yeah sometimes he gets more stuck than others! :D  Definitely something I would work on if I had more time.  I kinda got him chasing you if you light him up, but he doesn't damage you.  And of course there's no really payoff if you get a lot of points, other than the fun of firing flaming arrows over a distance and lighting him up :)

Thanks Skepays! Thanks for saying it captures the panic of a city attacked - that and the general atmosphere were things I really focused on.  <3

Pros:

- A first-person, open-world game with items, action bar, movement, multiple locations, in 2 weeks?  Hell yes!

- Multiplayer?  Voice chat?  You're a beast!  (didnt test it, but I've done a bit of multiplayer dev - it's hard!)

- Love having things like a pickaxe and a rifle with animations and lighting and such

Improvements if you had more time:

- To be able to actually use the pickaxe

- That the bullets have some effect on things you shoot

- More storyline

Great effort though, one of the best efforts I've seen so far!

Very well done Kilted!  Great to see a game from you.  I played it yesterday but I think I was still half asleep from the jam and couldnt figure out what was going on.  Played it again just now and that was really well done!  Interesting you and I both independently made "saving the town/city" from an alien threat-type game haha.  But you managed to get in more actual gameplay, so again well done bro!

Ninjas Assemble!

Ninjas Assemble!

You did a lot right, and finished a full game. Great job on that!  I couldn't seem to make the enemies agro on me, which was a tad disappointing.  There's potential there though, again well done!

Was interesting seeing the state changes. Well done!

I liked playing it when I figured out what was going on.  Lots of Synty assets used.  Were there any original models mixed in there too?  Good job coding it all together, nice one.

Some great low-poly modelling and world building.  Very unforgiving hounds though :D

Pretty good, good gameplay, polished.  That's a lot of work for two weeks!! Well done.

Yeah I feel your pain, that's frustrating.  I left about 1.5 hours for compiling, zipping and uploading, and just as well, because I went through the cycle about 6 times, fixing bugs n stuff.  It can be good to do a package earlier in the dev cycle, that way a lot of the shaders get compiled and cached.  When you do your actual package, it'll fly through!  GL bro.

Nice one! Smooth locomotion, nice world building.  What water asset did you use?

Really well polished and well done, from a fellow game dev!  Bravo!

Nice feel

Nice work!!  love the graphic style, animations are decent, and love the humor and changes, especially the dog scene <3

Keep it up!!

This was really really enjoyable.  Awesome graphic style both in the cutscenes and also in-game great mechanics, atmosphere, polish.

Well done everyone!!!! <3

It was the first thing to occur to me.

Solid looking level construction but waaay too dark

Really nice work dude, great humor and some nice moments.  Influenced by the Stanley Parable?

:D

hahaha

Yeah, the rules don't say, and it is called "catS", so yeah ....
