Cool game with amazing art and music ! I saw that you already got quite a lot of comments talking about how to improve the controls, I would like to suggest my spin on it :
- When holding an arrow key, the player begins in walk animation for a few frames, then automatically switch to run animation (no input needed)
- The Walking speed could gradually increase until it match the Running speed (but keep the acceleration quite fast, I don't want to wait too long before reaching my max speed)
- When jumping, always use the horizontal running speed (otherwise I have almost no control on where I land)
Not mandatory :
- I would love to be able to jump with the Up arrow key, and interact with Space. I think it would be more intuitive and like that I don't have to move my fingers to interact with the environment.
Pretty cool game overall, well done !
Great Game with amazing polish ! Particularly the sounds effects thats are just nuts. A few things to make the game event better :
- Jumping feels a bit too powerfull and doing it sideways make it hard to control. It's also hard to understand if I have 2, 3 jumps or more, maybe choose a number and stick with it
- A look ahead + damping camera would be great for the platforming section, right now the Camera goes immediately up when I jump and it feels a bit dizzy
- A bit too much of screenshakes when fighting
Otherwise, awesome and really fun game ! I like it !
Thanks for your reply, I agree with everything you said and I'm sorry for the unclear parts ! I think the pop up could be a great addition but I quite don't understand how it could be implemented. The pop up would appear and say in which recipes the current object can be used ? But if I do that, it destroy the research aspect isn't it ? Thanks again for playing and for your suggestion
Great game ! I like the idea that we loose control gradually. Also your pathfinding is awesome ! A few things you could improve :
- Sometimes when you get it by a monster you can get hit again instantly after. I would add some knockback, or maybe the monster could die.
- When you loose all the body parts, it's a bit long to see your character do all the level again and again. Maybe add a button to skip it, or just change the final state when you have no body parts left.
- It would be great if the light added something to the gameplay aspect, maybe some monsters could be faster or slower when you direct the light at them, etc.
