The visuals of this game are wonderful! I’m going to be honest, I suck at it haha but I really like the concept of a reverse connect-4 and you executed it brilliantly!
Can’t really think of how you would improve this, feels like a finished product already :]
Very unique idea for this jam. I really like this game. Gameplay simple and presentation good. Art looking good and sounds fitting.
Simple but fun gameplay loop and amazing art. I really enjoyed it!
Really cool concept, with amazing presentation ! Also way harder than it looks :p Good Job !
nice puzzle game, with interesting twist
A deceptively simple but tricky core puzzle mechanic. Excellent theming and presentation as well. Very well done :)
Interesting concept! I thoroughly enjoyed this, it's very fun.
Perhaps the most mischievous of all monsters yet put to game.
A cool twist of the Connect 4 game! I'm really bad at Connect 4 so I didn't really do well in my attempts, but I did notice some kind of AI as they're pretty smart and don't just drop pieces in random. Really great game!
Thank you for playing!
Our programmer, Dan Miller (dsmiller95), is very proud of his AI. I believe he spent a majority of the Game Jam weekend on it!
The idea is realy creative. The presentation is great. I had a board game like this where one player had to make a connect 4 (of any color) and the other wins if no connect 4 is done at the end of the game.
Maybe some additional constraints would be great since the game is realy easy to beat.
Thanks! Yea we definitely had a few ideas to expand/add complexity to the game loop, but ran up against the deadline, and didn't want to dilute how simple it was to understand. Maybe after the jam though!
Super creative take, and as others have said this was a lot more challenging than I anticipated. The artwork and animation is so well done, and great choice of audio to go along with it. I love how you accounted for instances where a column was full and the hands would automatically redirect to a different one.
It's very simple and really fun, I basically have no complaints. Great work!
simple premise, easy to grasp, but gets challenging quickly enough to keep me engaged! Really cool concept!
Really enjoyed it, thought it was a great idea. Much trickier than it looks though!!
it is harder than what i thought, i really like your idea. well done!
Surprisingly difficult once you realize the pieces can fall down when you move the rows. Not sure what the best strategy is, but it's a lot trickier than I thought at first. Really creative take on the jam idea with 'reverse connect 4', and the art/style of the game is on point. Quite polished too.
I'd appreciate it if you check out my game too if you have a minute!
Thanks, yea it really starts to get complex when you start filling up the fourth column! We're really happy with how it turned out :)
Beautiful looking game! I couldn't actually get the pieces to shift row unfortunately. I could get one every now and again but it felt rather random. Am I missing something?
The pieces will only shift if they are "settled", meaning they have fallen through the board as far as they can. We didn't want the game to work like tetris where you can have theoretically complete control over where the pieces land, so this is what we ended up with.
There are some interesting effects in the game as a consequence of this! Try moving a stack of pieces all the way to the edge of the board, squishing the stack against a falling token
Thanks for playing!
Thanks for letting me know! I replayed and rerated it, that does make this game super fun and interesting! I guess there is a bug where you can occasionally shift pieces on the way down
I might see if I can make a test to find that behavior, sounds a little tricky!
This game is awesome! I adore the art style and presentation of the game. Also the clock sound being an indication of "time passing" is a great touch. Sweet submission! Tried to desperately beat it but couldn't lol
Really well executed and it just does a unique job of making you see a common game in a totally different way. Diagonals are evil in forward and reverse connect 4. Maybe it's just a skill issue :D
During brainstorming while we were paper prototyping, I thought it might be impossible! I was finally able to solve it at some point after we submitted. its pretty tough to check if shifting 6+ tokens would cause a win
shit made me cum fr fr
Glad to hear you enjoyed it 😬
Really love the twist and the evil mouth creature really sells the mood
Glad you enjoyed! I like to think the board is either possessed or it's a Mimic creature. But I can't imagine it would be very comfortable if someone dropped tokens in your guts!
