Hey. Mike!!! I went back and watched the vod of you playing. You were what clued me in that our tutorial needed some work…lol.

Thanks so much for the play, compliments, and the feedback!! I hit your game back already and forgot to post here :) it was *certainly* chaotic. i killed so many of myself trying to break those damned boxes. truly tragic 😭

Thank you!!! I just got around to yours. I've been binging mindustry with my friends, which was a factory game that originated in a game jam :D it was a treat to play your game! Thanks for the game and the play :D

Just gave this a play. I love how much factory builder game you were able to implement in such a short time frame.

If I were you, I would avoid physics simulation for moving the parts around and would instead make a homebrewed system. The parts were doing some curious behaviors due to the physics combined with the conveyers.

Amazing work altogether. I was very impressed. Thanks for the game and the play!

Ooh thanks for the link to the devlog! I'll take a look.

Just hit up your game!!! It's super fun. Being a CT has never been so...explosive. lol.

Thanks for the game and the play! :D

Hey, hookmanuk! I played and rated you yesterday and forgot to post here -- I love your game!!! It was really fun struggling with the right amounts of exponential growth for all the colors to maximize reds. I was also impressed by the high score server implementation -- that's something I've been wanting to try myself. Can I ask what server framework you used? I was looking into node.js, but I didn't know what solutions other developers were using.

Thanks for the game and the play!!

lol you did great! the point of a jam is to force you to learn as much new shit as possible, and you crushed it. if you had more than 7 days i’m sure the camera would be more polished :D

An extremely polished jam game. You do a great job of paying your respects to the touhou genre.

I love the music and the art style.

As a person who is colorblind, it was impossible to see the touhou hitbox. If you were to do a full release of this game, A) please send it to me :) B) look into color-blind options!

Thanks for the fun game!

I'd love to collect more feedback on my game from skilled developers, feel free to check it out :) Thanks!

I absolutely love the world-gen idea.

The camera controls gave me a really bad headache/motion sickness. I couldn't play for more than a minute before setting it down. I think doing a more traditional third-person camera scheme would benefit the game greatly!

Thanks for the game! This was a treat :)

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I think if I were to make this a full game, there would be earlier levels with a longer time limit that allows the player to learn the codes from the confusing manual. Then later levels that are a dexterity speed typing/memorization test.

Thanks again :D

Your game is a very fun play :) Thanks for the game and the play!

This is a complete banger of a jam game. I love the juxtaposition between the calm guitar and the horrible, horrible things you're doing. I also like that while it's a city destruction game, you're doing it for a good cause.

I had a ton of fun with this. Thanks for the game and the play! :D

Thank you!!! I already got to your game yesterday :D Thanks for the play and the game!

Thank you! Just played yours back. Amazing job! The assets in your game were fantastic. Loved the mass hoard falling from the sky lol.

Thanks for the game and the play!

Good work!

There were lots of soft-locks throughout this level -- I would recommend having a 'restart' button in the main menu if you keep these in!

The mass enemies falling from the sky was a really cool idea!! It was a super fun segment.

My game did crash towards the end of that segment, though.

Thanks for the game! :D

Thank you! I just played your game -- I love the concept, too! And the music was a great choice. Thanks for the game and the play :)

Great job, cheesecube! The  player sprite made me laugh. Thanks for the game and the play!

Thanks for the game! I loved the music and general aesthetic of the game. I'd be curious to explore more interesting platformer concepts (i.e. movement abilities), but obviously that's outside the scope of a 7 day jam. Nice job!

Glad that was the problem. We're updating the tutorial bc it's way too unclear about this -- a ton of players are having this same issue. Thanks for your feedback! Helping us be better game makers :D

I voted yours at that point, too :)

Oooh that'd be cool! I'm imagining something like Ghostrunner, but arena-focused combat where your abilities (movement and combat) are determined by where you land.

Oh no! You're not the first. My best guess is you ran into the same issue as some streamers that I watched -- TL;DR the codes in the manual are multi-character most of the time. The first page of "Arms" tells you the first key of the arm code.  So for the robot left arm, the code is "al bp"

If that wasn't your issue please reply bc you might have seen a bug no one else has! I'd love to know about it in that case :)

Thanks for the play!! I'll play and rate yours soon :D

Thanks so much for the c&c! I'm definitely noticing that people are getting confused. We'll need to tweak the tutorial and the manual to make sure the information is comprehendible :)

Just played and rated you! I think I was your 20th, so congrats!
Thanks for the game and the play!

Really cool idea!! I could see this being one of those silly streamer frustration games (Get Over It) with some extra polish.

Thanks for the game and the play!

The sheer amount of work you've put into your game shines through clearly! This is a great idea, and great execution. Good job with this jam! I wouldn't have guessed it was your first try :) I left C&C on your post!

This is awesome!!! You basically made two games in one week, so great job with that :D

I think the pixel art style serves your game well, and you implement it perfectly. The audio is fantastic. Great SFX, love the music switch to chaosworld.

If you were planning on taking this game further than the jam, my critiques would be:

1) the platformer section isn't very fun. I'd spend some time thinking about what makes popular platformers fun and do some of that! Movement options, etc.

2) The camera is working against the player in both your games. I think this can be done intentionally to make a game difficult, but I found it a bad-frustrating. For the shooter section, I'd explore mouse-focused camera options if I were you!

3) The shooter section was too easy (at least up to the point I played) -- I could basically walk into/through enemies whenever and never got punished for it. Your platformer section, on the other hand, was frustratingly difficult. I think hard platformers can only be fun if they have a variety of movement options. I walked into the side of a torch returning from that second key one too many times lol.

4) I had a crash once when switching from platformer to shooter. Can't really give you more info than that sadly :(

Thanks so much for the play and the game! This is a really high quality jam :)

Thanks!!! Just gave your game a play -- such a creative concept, and great execution! Thanks for the play and the game :D

The infodump tutorial screen was overwhelming at first, but I got the hang of it on my second time through it!

A very unique concept, and the graphics and audio really come together to create a gritty retro ambience. Great work!

Just gave yours a play! Reminds me of https://www.crazygames.com/game/age-of-war (which I was addicted to for a few weeks as a kid, so that's a huge compliment!) :) thanks for the play and the game!

Simple and fun! I think attack speed is way overtuned lol. Thanks for the game and the play!

Just tried your game! Amazing job this week :D was floored by the graphics, and the gameplay was fun (minus the lag)!

great work!

Positives: Great concept,

amazing graphics,

good audio,

great game design.

Negatives: The optimization is lacking -- very laggy experience on my rig.

The "floatiness" of the movement is not super fun. Movement games need to have a level of snappiness imo!

Thanks for the awesome game! Extremely well done :)

Just gave it a play! Your game is quite funny. Thanks for the game and the play!

great job! the controls are buttery smooth, and you got great sfx for the popcorn and bucket! Thanks for the game!

Just played and rated! I love the idea of a competitive frogger. You did a great job :) Thanks for the game and play!

The cars look great, and the bgm was a great touch. Thanks for the fun game!

Just played yours!! Super impressed with this game on such a short time frame. Destructible environments have  to be really hard to do that well! Thanks for the game :)

Really fun play! I was super impressed with how well the destructible assets all came out (both art and gamefeel!)

Thanks for the game!
