This is a very creative twist on a visual novel and I love how it's used in the last part. Really well done!

Hey, sorry to see you couldn't export the executable in time. I hope you plan on including one after the jam is over because the gameplay and art is cool!

Unfortunately this seems to be a general engine crash. You could try updating your graphics drivers or use some launch parameters to see if it helps. If you have an Nvidia card you could set the FPS limit there as well.

Hi! I'm not sure what is causing this. Do you know when this happened? You can also try lowering resolution and/or FPS limit to see if it helps.

I like this concept! The beginning is a bit slow for my liking but when it speeds up I love climbing up the blocks to stay up top. The cat hats are cute as well!
Not sure of the purpose to the lives since it resets you back the beginning, maybe if it could let you continue a run as well as the score penalty?

Short and sweet! Managed to get both endings.

Finally, a game where I can understand what it's like to be a burger :)

It's oddly satisfying to go through the process of cooking the burger and getting the ingredients. I ran into an issue where I couldn't cook the burger anymore which made me sad because I wanted to complete more orders.

This is pretty fun, the game is easy to understand and I like the mix between managing offense and defense.

The game's visuals are fantastic, and I like the premise. I tried to play blind, and the only thing I couldn't figure out was how to do different melee attacks until I read the Control Guide. I'd probably like a little hint as to how I died, but overall this is cool!

Sucks that you couldn't make more levels in time. The idea of a disconnected player is interesting, though.

By the way, I accidentally fell off the first level by simply moving left :)

Hi,

The buttons to press in the shop are at the bottom of the screen, but I seem to have missed the button to actually purchase the items, oops. I'll add the full set of controls to the game page to clear up any confusion. Thanks for playing!

It can be weird to only be able to move right, but I think this is a pretty good concept. I liked (and hoped for) more Challenge levels because they're tougher and involve more than simply moving right.

Thanks for taking the time to play it! Its weird to see someone play my own game, but it helps to know that I should add an actual tutorial in the future.

  • There was a glitch where the Game Over and the You Win would not cover the entire screen, so a bit of the level could be seen. Don't know if that was intentional but I felt like it wasn't.
  • The You Win dialogue loops forever (also can't tell if intentional, but it doesn't loop when you lose).
  • You're able to shoot through locked gates.
  • There's a level where the creatures in your inventory overlaps the lowest part of the level. It may confuse people.
Those are the ones I could name off the top of my head. I may be able to find more if I play again.

I've managed to beat the game with all animals collected and no sacrifices!

Teleporting grenades, once you get the hang of it, is really satisfying to use. Being able to telefrag enemies with it is also very cool. However, not being able to cancel an existing grenade can be troublesome. Especially if the shot misses and needing to start from the bottom of the level again. Despite having so many creatures in my inventory, I never felt I had the need to use it. Perhaps the game was too easy, or there was no major incentive to use them.
Aside from some other minor glitches/bugs, the game is quite nice.
