Amazing job axoona! Freedom under capitalism is freedom to choose which capitalist steals your labour

These are all super intriguing!

Thank you so much!

Ah I see. No changes have been made but it is a rather long jam. Will it go back on the calendar once it's closer to its finish date?

shufPoetry Experimental Poetry Jam

Hey leafo, our jam just started today (yippee!) but for some reason it disappeared from the calendar? Do you know why this happened, or is my browser just being funky?

Hi there, when I try to join the discord it says that the invite is invalid. What can I do?

It's up! Thanks leafo

Thank you axoona! Please submit if you can, we love your work :D

Will do! Thank you

Thanks Caleb!

hi Porpentine! I just wanted to let you know that we featured your work as an example in our shufPoetry Experimental Poetry Jam. Is this okay? If not I will of course take it down, and apologies for asking after the fact and not before. Hope you are well and thriving!

Oh yay! Yeah I love it. I'll have to go scope out your work, it's so amazing seeing all the different things people do with the same software :)

hey dh! I'm co-hosting a jam with shufPoetry and just wanted to let you know that we've listed your game as one of the ones people can look to for "poetic inspiration." Is this okay? hope you are well! this is the jam page if you wanna see it: itch.io/jam/shufpoetry-jam

Hi Y'all!

I'd like to formally invite all of you to shufPoetry's first ever poetry-game jam! The official jam page is here, where there's more information about shufPoetry (an experimental poetry publication) and the jam itself.

if you're asking, WHY SHOULD I JOIN? I have made a comprehensive list of reasons you should join, even if you're not a poet:

  1. Jams are so much fun!
  2. Poetry is whatever you define it as! (Seriously, go to any poetry class, the first example they usually give of "found poetry" is a grocery list)
  3.  I will play and comment on EACH SUBMISSION fully, so if you want feedback from yours truly this is your chance!
  4. You can get published in a real life literary magazine! And how!
  5. Don't you want to experiment in the form?! Make a weird game and slap the title pOeTrY on it so it feels artsy and cool?! It doesn't even need words! Ahh

Seriously I just want people to be not afraid of "poetry" as a genre, especially since I see SO MANY awesome poetic games here all the time. Anyway if you're interested please check out the Jam page here!

Okay thanks for your time!

Awesome, thanks!

hey there! Alienmelon has a cool app called the Electric Zine Maker, which helps you make zines you can print out, or keep online (with the help of the EZM html publishing tool). Can I use those for this?

Very artful game! I love the graphics and the sounds. Mechanically I found it a little boring (all I do is hold now the mouse to the right?) but the narration was captivating enough that I played til the end, where I really enjoyed the hopping and shedding skin bit! Great piece, please make more :)

Hey my friend is stuck, there's a pop up window and it's all grey and no way to get back to the zine maker (not even to force quit it). The popup window came from the image overlay tool. Any tips on how he should proceed?

Ah dude that's awesome! I totally FEEL the want to not rely on twine or any other engine. Looking forward to more of your work! Your prowess with twine is hella inspiring

OMG dh thanks so much for your in-depth response!!! You're amazing and I really appreciate your work and kindness. Thank you so much, i def might try to make something like this if you don't mind haha i could use the html and css practice for sure!

Dude this is awesome! And speaks to a super relatable experience (as I write from the foodbooth i work at). Can I ask how you made this? It's super cool and I love that it's mobile friendly

Hey bipalone! I too use game dev to process emotions, and I'm glad you decided to be vulnerable so you could make this moving piece. Looking forward to playing more of your work!

Hey! This poem uses the click mechanic ("shoot" mechanic) really well! I love that idea, it sorta reminds me of the twine game Even Cowgirls Bleed, or Ishmael (when he's trying to put down the gun). You did a great job!

Hey! This game is extraordinarily well made. I love the sound, the playability, and the poems strewn throughout. Great job!

Hey! I enjoyed playing this "prose". I liked the interactivity/homage to IF that it had, and the way the directions looped together made it disorienting in the best way. good job!

Hey! You did a great job creating a particular atmosphere, and this piece really shows your twine prowess. I really like how it breaks into smaller poems that can be picked in any order, and you've some great one-liners ("They felt like you and i cried"). Nice work.

Hi there! I like the spoke-and-hub form of this poem. While I usually don't really like rhyming poetry, it worked well in this piece. If you're considering expanding upon this poem, it might be cool if you made the lines change/the sub-poems change based on order of previously accessed passages, so it felt like your actions affected the flow of the poem more. Anyway, nice work!

Hiya! This little poem generator is a lot of fun. The pacing and tone are really well done, and I wished that it was a longer experience (it's apparent that you're experienced making these and skilled at its execution). Nice work!

Hi there! I like how this poem loops, much like my mind does when I am distracted and can't focus. The cover art is beautiful too. If you're ever interested in working more on this piece, I think it might be cool if you (upon each loop) changed the words slightly, or made certain words fall away. Riffs, extensions, iterations around its core idea! Anyway, nice work :)

Interesting poem! It was a little hard to read, but the form is cool and I'm curious what the code looks like (thanks for including the credits!). Not sure how much I like it as a poem in itself, but as a piece of technological/form-based innovation, this is one for the books!

Thanks for playing!!
