Oh don't worry, english isn't my first language either haha. The second level has an object that triggers the door when shot with a laser bullet. I know that's my fault since there's no tutorial to explain that, but maybe that's the issue. Unless theres an actual bug I havent found.

Thank you! I think I subconsciously borrowed from Portal - that game honestly inspired me to start game development so taking a few ideas feels good to me. I'm glad you liked the puzzles, I was afraid the last one was going to be weird and difficult, but I'm really happy knowing you liked it. Thanks for the encouragement!

Yeah a lot of people are talking about browser issues but they're hard to fix because I can't really pin down the problem to something specific... not sure if it's an issue with Unity WebGL builds themselves. I guess I'll try to see if I find a fix eventually haha. Thanks for playing the game though!

Yeah I found the level one skip which leads you directly to the laser area. At the start of the second level, there is an obstacle blocking the other side so it makes sense why you wouldn't be able to teleport, but it's weird to hear you can't move either. I'll look further into that, thank you.

Thanks!

I'll look further into that then, thanks

Thank you for playing the game! I'd like to ask you further about the laser area, how did you get lost and how did you break the game? I'd like to fix the level design if it's possible.

Thank you for playing the game! I somehow missed that first puzzle teleport haha, I should definitely fix that. As for the browser version of the game, I definitely want to look further into that... what happened when you tried running the game? Did it get stuck loading or did it not load at all? Also, what browser are you using? Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely make sure to implement a restart button, but could I still ask where exactly you got softlocked? Maybe the level design could still use some work haha.

Thank you for playing the game! I hadn't considered the enemy health bar but it's probably a good idea and it shouldn't be too hard to implement. As for the in-game notes, that's definitely planned! I'll be adding that as soon as I'll be able to, as making a proper tutorial was one of my priorities that I wasn't able to fulfill in time. I'm glad you still thought the game was good anyways, thank you!

Hey everyone! My game is not finished and won't be by the end of the jam unfortunately. But even with that, I'd appreciate feedback on this prototype-ish project, as I intend to work on it even more later on. Thank you!

Thank you for playing! I'll try your submission later today

Thank you for playing the game! Did you play downloaded version or browser version? Downloadable is not up to date and only goes up to stage six, browser version has two more levels. If you played on your browser but the game stopped at stage 6 then that's a bug

Thank you for everybody who gave me feedback on the early version of Afterlife Duo! So, here it is in full: my submission to the Gamedev.tv 2022 Game Jam. Have fun! https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-jam-2022/rate/1551005

Thank you for playing the game! I'd still like to continue working on the game in the future so I'd try to change most of the assets – I'm no artist and since I had no team to work with I tried doing my best on Microsoft Paint which probably wasnt a good idea lol. I'm not able to offer any paid work so I'll try looking for somebody to help me remake the assets voluntarily, although it'll be difficult

Oohhh you're definitely right, I noticed what you were talking about! Had two collisions on a very unfortunate spot, thanks for the heads up!

Unfortunately I couldn't manage to recreate and fix the bug you experienced, but I did get the embedding right so thank you for the tip!

Thank you for playing the game! Funny you commenting, I had played Death's Driver earlier today and was surprised at how polished it felt for a jam, congrats on that. Although can I ask, you got more details on the wall stickyness thing? It sounds like a bug because from day one the player had frictionless materials and it's been working fine for me, but if you could explain more about it maybe I can fix it. Thank you

Yeah i'll also look for a solution on embedding, for now the temporary solution is trying to play it on fullscreen but I understand thats not really ideal

Thank you a ton for playing the game and giving some real good feedback! I understand the tutorial issue and you might be right, either way the rockets are well introduced by Stage 2 so it might not be an issue if I remove that. Also yeah I'll definitely fix Stage 6 cause thats the jankiest of the bunch, a higher jump might not be too bad, I'm still a beginner at Unity in general so more fluent controls are a bit harder for me to get right.

Also, the ghost is meant to be stopped by normal walls and the red-transparent type introduced in Stage 5, however it can also go through some in Stage 6. This wasn't intended as a mechanic, it's to avoid softlocks in which the ghost can get stuck in between walls and make the stage unbeatable.

About the narrative, it was... definitely rushed lol. At first I didn't intend to have one but I figured some context wouldn't be bad. A long animation-cutscene was the fastest and easiest way I could do this without wasting too much time so in regards to that, yeah my bad lol.

And finally, about the transition, I made it myself and it was actually pretty easy. It's two Unity Canvas UI elements as children of a GameObject. This means I was able to add an Animator component to the parent object and create an animation for both to move at the same time, so essentially, yes, they're just two big squares that move out and in lol.

Once again, seriously, thank you for playing my game and for this great feedback, it genuinely helps a ton!

Hmm... thats odd, I understand that happened in the browser version? I'll look into the issue, thanks for the heads up!

Hey all! I decided to upload my entry to the game jam earlier than usual, so the game isn't finished yet. It only goes up to stage 6, but I'd heavily appreciate some feedback! Thank you https://ocamper.itch.io/afterlife-duo
