I'll eventually look into adding font size options, in the meantime most browsers have a zoom in feature which might help.

Thank you! I like to respond to comments because I'm very grateful to everyone who takes the time to leave one. :) But writing-wise I'm actually on a bit of a hiatus. I've burnt myself out and need to recover and it'll take time, unfortunately.
That being said, I purposefully didn't list the ROs because (for this story, at least) I wanted people to discover them as they play, and choose who to romance in a more organic and immersive way, if that makes sense. I did plan to make a list of main characters (ROs and others) with short descriptions on my tumblr blog, but it'll take time to put together so I've put that on the back burner for now. When I do make it, I'll consider how to include it on here or in the game itself.
I'm glad you're enjoying the story and thank you for the feedback!
I'll look into the color scheme and see what I can do about it in a future update.
Edit: looking at it again, it's possible the font's weight might be the issue more than the color. I'll still look into improving it, but I would recommend trying out the other font available, it's likely easier on the eyes.
Hello! I’m very flattered by all your nice compliments! It really means a lot. :)
I’ll look into how to make the save to file and load from file thing clearer.
As for the choice you speak of, it only appears if you already showed romantic interest in Ajmal. The choice to not confess does not cancel that in any way and the game will still take into account the romantic feelings MC has for Ajmal.
There’s not really a choice to opt out of the romance in this choice set because it wouldn’t make much sense that soon after expressing interest.
But that might not be clear enough that the choice is still within the romance, so I’ll give it another look.
Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed the game so far. :)
I'm sorry the font has been causing you eyestrain. I'll look into how I can integrate a couple font sizes in the settings of the game. In the meantime, I recommend using the alternate font, open sans, which is easier on the eyes in my experience, and your browser's zoom-in feature, which should allow you to get a bigger font without interfering with the UI much. It might persist throughout my itch.io profile and my other games if you don't change it back, though.
I'm sorry. :( I suppose it's possible that the cookies were erased with the update. But I've heard that itch.io changed hosting platform for html games so it could be that all saves for everyone were deleted, I can't say for sure. Or your browser erases cookies regularly, which could be changed in your settings, potentially.
Thank you, that's very sweet. :)
I don't think one option is really easier for me than the other, to be honest. The workload is the same. The thing that might be harder would be the lack of feedback and interaction with the readers for such a long time in the case of full chapter updates. But even that might not be that different in the end. Shorter updates means less content for readers to react to so it might balance out.
The poll is here to give me an idea of how people feel about this, I don't plan on letting it decide for me what to do, but it'll help me make a more informed decision. :)
Hi! Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments! I'm absolutely floored and excited to see people wanting to read the original novel lol.
I think there's enough in the current demo to confirm that a potential romantic relationship with Peyrolles is probable yes.
And I'm really glad you enjoyed the scene with the spinet with Chartres! I wanted to have something to soften the moment, to highlight the friendship between Gonzague and Chartres.
The saves are stored in your browser’s cookies. To keep your saves, you need to make sure your browser allows cookies on itch.io and doesn’t erase them over time.
Unfortunately some mobile devices delete those cookies regardless of your settings. I’ve not found any work around that.
If you can play on laptop/desktop, it would be ideal.
I’m hoping it’ll be possible to add a save to file option, but I can’t guarantee it’ll happen as of now. And even if I’m able to add that feature, the save files will be obsolete after each content update.
Hi! Thank you for all of the nice compliments first of all! <3
I thought about listing the love interests on the game's page, I did that in other games, but I realized it would be complicated to do so for this story without risking spoiling some plot points. And now I actually really like the idea of letting players discover the love interests by playing the game!
As for their ages, at the start of the story, they range between 20 and 25, but there'll be a time gap later on and then MC and the ROs will be in their late 30s/early 40s.
