I do think mention of streamers being the judges at the start would might have helped. I think Thor didn't want the wrong motivations to join the jam that's all.

I think "C*mbucket" is a good lesson yes, have you ever released a game on steam? Unironically typical normal gamejam judges do NOT reflect the real feeling of releasing a game. You get destroyed on steam for every little thing, even when you are right.

There are 234535 other jams that can provide a safe space with positive opinion, I like that this one will highlight the entertainment section of dealing with streamers, which can be a big part of having your game successful.

For example, I know our game will get shiton for the fullscreen default and no settings. Even tho it's a gamejam, I know we will lose points for that one... has nothing to do with the "game" but it reflects the overall experience of it.

Thank you for personally addressing this :D As you said it's part of making a game to deal with things like this, releasing a game isn't "fair" anyways in multiple ways. It's going to be fun seeing such a different cast of streamers reacting to our games differently, I hope posts like these don't make them hold back on their persona.

I won't argue that what he said is not bad, of course it is. But if the streamer feels bored, he likely wasn't enjoying the game sadly and instead decided to add content by insulting the genre over all and devs that create them. It's his way how to entertain his viewers, I wouldn't try to look more in depth than that or take it personally. Those comments were meant to be funny for his viewers and not to insult you, again... 100% understand how you feel but streamers can be brutal like this for the sake of entertainment.

I 100% agree that these comments are a bit crazy and I'v seen him doing the same to others... BUT reminder his name is ExcessiveProfanity. No offence guys when you introduce streamers in judging you gotta expect their persona if they are going to stream it. Lot of people pushing for "Stream my game", this is exactly how it feels when a streamer plays your game most of the time.
Most of the time they will get bored, ignore you or think your game is shit. There is an argument to make that these streamers are not the best to judge game jam games not only ExcessiveProfanity...... but all of them. At the same time, it gives you a unique taste of what it feels like to have your game out there and streamers play it. I personally like it, and I'm ready to get shiton by ExcessiveProfanity.

Awesome idea, looking forward for you to share your journey!

My personal fav from this Jam so far :) You already won the 1st place for me! 10/10 Level Design and Mood even with the simple art. No real bugs either!

https://overtimegamedev.itch.io/feasting-ferrets apart some balancing feedback, players seem to love our ferrets 😄

The game pauses when you select the food (the menu) but easy to miss since it's so chaotic hahaha. Thanks for playing & comment

yes the stress is stressful... Not in a good way and not intuitive as we would like to be. Sadly not enough time to polish it but we love the idea overall

The setting is basically you are hosting a feast some call it "table spread" for Thor's fan base and you host it in your house. The idea is that so many fans show up that you have to spread the tables all over the town etc (future content) not just your house.

ferrets jump over tables and that causes stress. Same when they don't have a table to seat 😄 I agree that the stress in the game isn't properly polished to educate the player of how it works. "The glitches" on table is them eating and then "swimming in food" we just didn't have time to make the food react properly or remove the food haha. Thanks for your words, I agree with what you said, sadly we can't re-upload the fixes to balance it a bit  but hope it's fun either way!!😄

We are 3 game devs that meet on random jobs, this game jam was a test for us to see if we could start our own little studio / make a game together. Your words mean a lot  and encourages us!

Thanks for being the first supporter here on itch <3

So close yet so far.... 69.... :) Thanks for being the first player to try the game!
