Hey man, I liked your game.
What I do think is that the choices are a bit predictable and that most of the times I only had one to choose from, making the game very linear. I think this kind of game must have a lot more depth to it. But then again, it's a game jam, of course you don't have time for that.
I tried really hard to find the jumpscare you mentioned but didn't find it? I got threeendings, in two of them the guy at the end showed himself. Is that the jumpscare? Maybe.
Overall, I think it's great, just needs more depth.
I liked it. To be honest, I didn't quite understand how to play with the multipliers and stuff, but that's likely on me. Maybe if you had made a tutorial I would get it and spend a lot of time playing after, but then again, it must be that I'm not familiar with this kind of game. I read the description and you said it works like other games that I haven't played, that's why.
I liked the music, the sound effects are great, the animations perfect.
I don't know if it's my fault, but sometimes I don't have the card I need to enter a new round, like when he asks for pure hearts. Maybe there is some mechanic I didn't understand.
Overall I think it's great, I'm just slow.
I opened all the doors and got the You've Won message but I didn't quite understand what was going on. I saw the aliens near the doors but they didn't move when I opened the door, so I didn't see the consequences.
Maybe it's on my part but I didn't get what was going on. I will give you one advice tho: you should normalize the character movement.
I wanted to see what would happen as I go on, like if the player would get new power-ups and stuff, but I found the controls really junky and it became quite boring to try 10 times just to die because of them. One example is that the sprint only works in the direction you are facing, you need to stop and then sprint again to change directions.
There is an In Game Tutorial Screen!
Just for the record: it's not a good idea to change the default renderer as some textures may bug out and some lighting effects will not be supported.
If your machine doesn't support Vulkan, just stick to the WEB version. It will stutter a bit, but it's 100% playable.
