Originally, I tried to make various biomes with specific contents, but the real-time generation was too slow to be playable; I also planned to add some merchants to buy and sell stuff at different prices, and with a finite amount of money, to force the player not to stay at the same location, but there were too many bugs I had to fix before doing so.

I added a lot of mechanics, like buildings, ranged and melee attacks, ammunition, little animations, items picking up and droping... And lots of tiny bugs that I will hopefully fix before the release.

I also simplified the tiles visuals to be more readable.


I really like your 8x8 sprites and the graphic palette you choose. And your mechanics seem interesting too.

This time I'm making a pirate game : you play a pirate captain, sailing through the infinite-ish seas, looking for treasures and killing monsters...

   > Reduced Chili Pepper fireball shooting frequency

   > mushrooms were stucked in level 3 (fixed)

* What's new :

   > Now using Godot Engine 3.5

   > New weapon system : player has now 3 weapon slots !

   > Started "level 3 : the cave", the first long level with an unprecedent difficulty :)

   > New enemies : cute onions, angry chorizo, evil carrots and nasty turnips !

   > New boss : the shady chili pepper

    > Three new weapons : the freeze arrow, the fire arrow and the love arrow !

   > Also three new effects for enemies : frozen, on fire and in love ^^'

    (which will respectively slow, damage over time and confuse enemies)

   > Added a proper local score system



* Balancing :

   > Corn cobs now have only 2HP (instead of 4HP)



* Removed :

   > credits system and shop (kept for possible future implementation)

   > wheel of fortune (was too ugly and quite annoying ^^')



* Bugs correction :

   > (fixed) level selection was sometimes showing wrong level

   > (fixed) warping to the next level will no longer forget equipped weapons

   > (fixed) proper icon for the executable file of the game

> Better looking level selection menu (with pictures)

> Longer level 2 with a new enemy : the dark potatoe !

> new rare bonus : TNT !

> added glowing obstacle avoidance indicators (green arrows, actually)

> added a (very basic) Bonus Shop to casually spend earned credits xD

> added a setting to force english language in the settings menu

> changed loot rate (gold coins, laser upgrades)

> added messages about the last picked up bonus

> the level 1 boss is now tougher

> (fixed) thrusters wouldn't disappear after death
