Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

The yellow key is meant as a way to lure the player to the left shelf and on the bookshelf where the recipe is hidden. The other items you mentioned have no use at all. We added them just in case and haven't used them in the end...

Nice art style. Fade out transitions could be shorter and the game could be longer :) I had to fall into the pit on purpose to learn how you interpreted the game jam theme. I like it.

Wow! Great intro. Clever mechanics. Also quite hard game but that makes it more fun. And even an outro. Absolutely amazing accomplishment for a game jam.

Thank you for playing our game :)

Hey, great accomplishment for two weeks work. All the core mechanics are working. It could use some more polish but that could be said about any game :) Here are some observations:

- The game is really dark. I can't see the player character, especially in embed mode with white page background. I can't see the second floor above the ladder.

- I am attacked immediately after game starts. It took me several deaths before I figured out how to fight back. I would prefer to start in a quiet corner to have some time to get used to the controls.

- When I hit an enemy, the blood appears to come from the player character. I can't tell who got hit, whether me or the enemy.

- Kicking doesn't do anything when not jumping. Is that a feature?

- Projectiles look a bit weird, they disappear mid air and move too slow.

Very nice minimalist game with great aesthetics and unique gameplay. I love it!

(1 edit)

I have a game made in Godot 4 and it is set to "Embed in page". It used to work in embed mode but it works no longer. It looks like most of the embed options are completely ignored. The game does not start on page load. When I click to launch the game it opens in a new maximized (not fullscreen) window. The new window has a fullscreen button in the bottom right corner.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there perhaps some export option in Godot? Or perhaps some combination of settings on Itch? Or is it just how Godot html games work now on Itch?

Edit: It works in Chrome but not in Firefox.

Embed options

It is because our game is made in Godot. Itch opens Godot games in new window regardless of what we choose in "Embed options" :-( And it is relatively recent change. My other game used to work in embed mode but now it also launches in new window.
