I actually talked about narrows paths like this:
But they could be engine limitations, so it's ok. You could place some visible "place holder" or "under construction" or story backed element to passages not yet meant to be explored by player to tell them outright. This way players will see intention and will not ask whether it is a bug or not etc.
I lost every fight against Krosch. I think he's hard. And his response about losing every fight did not match up with the result.
I just checked:
Launching the game outside of Itch launcher does start the game instantaneously. The boot up process is noticably longer via Itch launcher. Weird!
And even more weird is the fact that starting the game as admin fixed the crashes (tested one fight). AND starting the game without admin afterwards had some crashes, still, but not 100% of times. 🤷
No shade at you particularly but admin rights to properly play any modern game should not be required anywhere (other then prereq setups). I don't want to give apps downloaded from the internet these privileges and I don't recommend any friend of mine to give apps these kind of privileges. From a security and UX standpoint I hope you figure this one out!
I forgot the mention:
Please implement save slots. I bet your had many things like this on your list, already.
A max FPS feature (default 60) could potentially help in people reducin load, power consumption and maybe address coil whine (if there is any). My monitor runs at 240 and therefore the games is at 240. It's not much for me, but my PC is a beast anywhay.
From my first run:
Occasionally, the boot up time of the game is veery long! I was not sure the game worked correctly.
Menu options are very small.
The hide button interferes with spacebar to advance text. It seems last clickable elements are selected and spacebar just re-activates them.
ESC button is non functional, even in battle to setup audio etc. I recommend letting the player pause the game, always.
After the first fight and (lose) CG the combat music continued to play.
Audio cannot be muted completely with the sliders.
Audio settings do not save.
Just like in Lentera the HUD shows very long decimals from time to time. It cannot be intention, is it? Even max MP etc are occasionally in deimals.
And when hitting the Quit button the game does not ask for confirmation. Progression loss can be a deal breaker for some players.
After the first battle gear was unequipped. This feels unintentional.
Using any special attacks like Pound or Bubble Slash crashes the game.
Simple small rock tiles block the PC. Flowers have minor display sorting issues (PC appears before/behind them).
Some (narrow) paths appear you can walk on but don't work. And some minor invisible collision.
The four coloured bars should have some description of what they show.
Attacks cannot be aborted when choosing the target.
The text box when choosing Run stays and blocks the GUI.
Saving and loading de-spawns any free roaming enemies.
