Hi, thanks for playing!

Those are both really good suggestions! The whole game was made in 48h so unfortunately we didn't have enough time to balance it better before submitting.

Should I get around to remaking it for mobile, I will definitely keep your ideas in mind!

Thank you! Yes, the meta aspect of it was intentional and I am genuinely glad people get it.

Thank you! I'll have a look!

Hi! It's a simple gameplay loop of selecting the left or right (bottom ones) ad to share to the feed while making sure none of the stats (top right corner) hit 0 or their max value. Each ad affects the stats (as shown on the ad itself) and missing the time window to select which ad to share results in a penalty (low stats decrease, high stats increase). Hope this makes sense!

This was actually really fun!

Every time I'd fail, it would only encourage me to try harder the next time.

Great use of theme, good and engaging mechanics, very nice art style and neat audio.

Excellent submission!

As far as runner games go, it's okay.

There could be more feedback for everything in the game tho - audio for jumping, rolling, passing cars, etc.

Maybe add some visual pleasantries too - particles for when you land (unity's particles are super simple and very effective).

I do not understand how it fits with the theme of the jam tho... Feels more like you made a runner game and then found a jam to submit it to, rather than the other way around :D

I liked the story, but it felt a bit lack-luster in terms of it being a game.

It felt more like a cutscene than actual gameplay.

Don't get me wrong, it was very emotional but it didn't really feel to me like I was playing a game, I felt like I had no agency :/

Quite polished tho, I also liked the art. Good job!

I liked it. I little light on the mechanics end of things, but still a fun experience.

I think it works very well for the theme, however it didn't make me feel like I did anything of value, unfortunately. It only had me go left and right and read a bit of text. The jump and crouch mechanics were unnecessary.

I personally would have liked to see more content cuz the premise is good, tho it just feels a bit empty.

Thank you! Yes, the timeframe did not allow for better balancing, but there is still some challenge when you aim to keep the combo up. I enjoyed playing your game as well!

Neat game. Quite simple in its design, but the execution is done very well.

The only improvements I can think of for it would be to make the UI a bit clearer and provide better feedback when stats change. I also did not quite understand what the wheels being red means? Maybe pop an indicator about that somewhere in there.

I understand the premise (from the previous comment) but I think the theme's integration could have been a bit stronger.

All in all, a fun experience, good job!

Thank you! Yes, there wasn't enough time to properly balance the stat values (as the whole thing was made in 56 hours)

Thank you! Yes, the ads were really fun to come up with, tho most of them were literally a last minute edition, up until then they were titled 'junk article 1,2,3...etc' :D

Thank you! And yes, at the time of the comment there was no audio in, but I managed to quickly sort some before the submission deadline! I'd encourage you to have another play through - the game got drastically improved in the final hour :D

Thank you very much! The audio has been implemented in the updated version! I'll keep your feedback in mind and add a 'controls' page in the main menu or maybe the gameplay UI :)

Thank you! All code for the movement was refactored and cleaned in the updated version, it feels a lot better now, especially the swinging.

Thank you so much! The updated version has greatly improved on the overall game feel!

Thank you! The audio is implemented in the updated version. A lot of other aspects of the game have also been touched up and improved on!

Thank you so much! You can see a lot more polish in the updated version! I ended up changing the movement a bit (will probably tweak it further by the end of the game jam), but the biggest difference can be seen in the swinging.

Hi! Sorry, there was no audio at the time of the first submission but most of it has been implemented for the updated version! The trampoline glitch has also been fixed! Thanks for playing!

Thank you for the feedback! The swinging was revamped and the bug causing the crash has been fixed in the updated version! The game feels a lot smoother to play now :)

Thank you so much for your feedback! All of your comments were addressed in the updated version of the game!

Thank you for playing! I will be posting an update once the Game Jam's rating period is over. I have already added a bunch of polish and new levels to it, as well as improvements to the existing levels. :)

Hey! Thanks for playing! You can actually see the paths between the nodes by hitting SPACE whenever the bar in the bottom left is full. Each level begins with a full bar and gets replenished as you move. I decided to limit the time during which the paths are revealed to add a bit of an extra layer of challenge to it since it felt too easy to get gold on most levels. I will post an update with some general improvements and extra levels after the July 9th, which is when the rating period for the game jam this was developed for ends.

The jam page says

'All qualified Game Jam submissions must provide the following proof of Backtrace Integration:

  1. A link to your backtrace project instance
  2. There must be at least one error report in the provided instance from during the game jam'

How do I export a crash report from Backtrace to submit as proof ? Or is the screenshot of the Backtrace project page I uploaded onto the itch project enough?
