Very interesting concept and cute game! I like that (if I'm not mistaken) some bricks can only be destroyed at a certain size. Though there were quite a few bugs like sometimes the ball's movement syncs with the paddle's.

Also I was a bit confused with some of the mechanics. Like sometimes the ball has a red aura, I shoot it and it shrinks but it still has the red aura and destroys the paddle when it touches it. Other than that, quite a novel idea.

Thanks for the feedback! I take responsibility for overcomplicated the puzzles especially with the time pressure. Should've thought things through lmao. We debated on adding a "Practice Mode" which allows you to play the game without the timer but ended up not having time for the main menu. Also sorry for the unskippable intro!

Thanks for the feedback! And yeah, turns out the game is bugged on restart so sorry about that. In future game jams we'll try to spare a lot more time for playtesting instead of adding content.

This game would benefit a lot from being able to zoom out and seeing the entire map. Also, an undo button could be nice too (I'm not that into puzzle game design so take this one with a grain of salt.)

Would love to see this game expanded though!

I think this game would benefit a lot from having more combat options. Like maybe deflecting projectiles or a secondary sword attack. The sword swing is quite sluggish so gameplay feels quite slow.

Animations and sound effect need a bit of work though. I recommend adding sound for the sword swing as it's a core part of the gameplay.

Though if you polish it and add more enemy variety, this game definitely has potential. Keep making games!

Also this is pretty funny lol:

Reminds me of Tasty Planet. The physics of breaking stuff down is very satisfying. I recommend adding points, a timer and a leaderboard at the end for players to compete and making it more replayable.

Don't think it was intended but if you glide and hold shift you can fly everywhere. It was quite fun but I was pretty confused what I was doing lmao.

Man I thought I did so well lmao. Love how the direction between the 2 landmarks are usually one of the 8 main directions on the compass to help guide the player. Top notch design. I recommend adding a sprint key though since the map is quite big.

It wasn't exactly intended but thank you! (Though Undertale is a great game)

Thank you!

Thank you for playing! And I agree with you. If we had more time, adding a reset key would definitely be on the top of the list.

Glad you enjoyed it! It's not cheating, it's on me for the poor balancing lol.

Could make for an interesting game for people who fish as a hobby if you add visuals and some sound effects. But either way good job!

Cute and simple but surprisingly addictive! Great art and vibes.

How did you four manage to develop this game in a week lol. It's very polished! The gameplay is unique and enjoyable though a bit punishing at times (I died to the last boss after three tries) and the art style and soundtrack are very fitting. This feels like a demo for a full game and you can definitely turn it into one and put it on Steam.

I'd really love to see a way to revive party members! I lost the guy that gives you mana pretty early on and felt like I missed quite a big part of the mechanics.

(1 edit)

Amazing job on the visuals and sound design. I almost forgot I was playing a game made for a game jam lol. The controls are really nice though it got a bit repetitive when the enemies stopped spawning when I go too far to the left or right.

Mom I'm scared what the hell is this thing.

Visuals and audio are an easy 5 star for me. Really love the sewer music. The game was a lot more challenging than I expected, which is great but some parts I found quite frustrating. Like how going the wrong way gets you stuck and forces you to restart the level. And also you may need to make the hitboxes in the sewer part more lenient because I still died even though I felt like I just dodged it.

Though this really has potential to be a full game so good job!

Not bad! Sound design and sprites are great. Could make for an interesting clicker game if you add more to it. Would've been more interesting if each fish had unique abilities, like a fish causing nearby fish to produce more bubbles for example.

Thank you for your kind words everyone!

This is the first game jam we've taken seriously and we're blown away by your support. ❤️

merry christmas
