I found a funny bug

TREE DEE GRAFICS

This is some impressive vaporwave enginedev shit.

One thing I have to point out is you need to change the shader or something for the player ship. Took me a while to realize I wasn't flying around a single green tri.

I spent a surprising amount of time playing this considering how simple it is. Cute sprites, the running into walls to time out enemies is kind of fun, I really like how once you can no longer one-shot enemies you have to change up your strategy and actually avoid the other rats, almost like a stealth roguelike.

It really needs a way to differentiate between empty space and unexplored areas, because it actually gets pretty confusing as is. Also, it needs a score or something so there's actually a point, even if it's just how many levels you've cleared. I missed having a display for hp/damage/enemy hp too.

STOP AVATARPOSTING

(1 edit)

Even after reading the game page and doing easy mode, it was super hard to figure out what to do, but I guess I got there eventually.

The animations are nice and it's cool they take up less than 25k. Would be cool if you could use the remaining 39k to add music and make it a basic rhythm game; I did notice you timed out the animations so they would stay synced to music.

Edit: Seems like it's 120bpm if anyone else wants to try adding their own music.

This is actually really cool. Reminds me of that helicopter flash game.

I pretty quickly became so OP I could probably deal with an endless solid wall so I got bored and stopped. I think balancing, or even removing, the upgrading would make this a seriously addictive time waster. Adding more types of the explosive boxes seems like it could be fun too.

A bug I noticed is the bullets don't really go where you click because they are not affected by the horizontal camera movement. It doesn't matter once your bullets speed up, but in the early game it's pretty annoying.

I don't like the hold to shoot thing either, should be instant on click with a cooldown. Again, not actually a big deal since you mostly hold the button, but it doesn't feel good.

Tried out 1.2 and realized exclusively farming is the best strategy, which caused the farmer bug to show up again due to having four farmers on a single field.

Also, you can click on tiles and accidentally place buildings through the menu, which is super annoying. You can see in the pic, I had to angle the camera so I could use the market menu.
