Please do, don't want any unfair sellers!  I'll likely update it as soon as the voting is over, don't wanna be unfair haha

Thank you for the feedback! I will get that patched when I get home :), as for the dishonourable seller, I'll report them to trading standards!  So you bought the cheapest item and didn't actually get it? Hmm

I think thats the first ever comment I have had on my gameloop haha.  Thank you :)

Thank you for your feedback :).  There is a lot more I intend to add to this, including more uses for the items you buy so they are consumables as well as a commodity, and better terrain generation.

I updated it to a payable version now, old version is still available as per the rules but it might give a better idea of the direction of the game haha.

And I am all too aware of time limitations of the gamejams, unfortunately work takes up more of my time nowadays but I still enjoy this.

It is an unfinished game unfortunately :(.  I am working on an update to at least make it playable though which I hope to have done later today.  It won't be 100 percent complete but it will have some gameplay at least.  thank you for taking your time to try it though :)

No there are 5, I noticed when I tried it when voting had already started that the string to show the level was rather stupidly created at the beginning and so it always shows that you're starting level 2... haha, its fixed now though, will update after voting period :)

yeah, it's even harder with a touchpad on a laptop hahaha

Wasd controls coming up when voting ends :)

yeah the controls were stressing me out towards the end, I only managed to make wasd and space work for controlling him shortly after submissions ended... Turns out I was reading like 5 lines too low on the reference guide haha oops.

After the power up system I'm thinking I might make bosses also at the end of each level so that should be an added challenge

(1 edit)

It happens :), I'm working on adding that functionality so it will be better, just waiting for the voting period to end.

Also I just noticed another part of your comment I didn't respond to, but Robert can get hurt too, he just isn't finished yet hah

thank you, I've been working on it since it was submitted and want more functionality to be added but I will wait til voting is over :)

I ran out of time while working on that part, he was intended to be the only way to pick up power ups and health, he wasn't added purely to fit the limitation

congrats!

Sorry! Did you win much?

It was intended with a touch screen in mind but you're right, I'll update when the voting is over :)

There is no restarting, its just a single scratchcard :)

Congrats! But how well did you win?

I hope so! :) I took a couple of days off of working on things but will be getting back to it soon and hope I can get it to a point where you can enjoy it fully!

yeah that's fair, the pineapples were a nightmare in the last couple of hours haha, I'm reworking the entire system that deals with them though so it should work better soon then I will update when it is perfect.

Yeah I ran into all the last minute bugs that I didn't see any time during early testing which sucks, and I didn't get around to sound so you weren't imagining things haha. Thank you for the feedback though :), it's definitely gonna be updated when I manage to fix the issues and add some additional features

Thank you! Yeah I wasn't able to get as much tutorial in as I'd like unfortunately, i always try to outline it on the game page but sadly jam submission pages don't show that information unless you go directly to the game page itself so it often gets missed :(.

Thank you! Yeah pico 8 has been pretty useful, making games in it is quite fast and just fun haha.  I was definitely considering some music and will definitely revisit that idea, I'm slowly using more and more things in each game I make :).

You're so kind!  Thank you :).  Glad you enjoyed, I actually am working on a small update for after the gamejam is completed so keep an eye on that :).

Thank you!

Its hard to say, I believe it is... I just haven't managed yet and don't know anyone that has haha, I might need to rebalance difficulty at some point :).

Yeah I can kinda see that, I think minesweeper had the little timer and counter in the top corners too.  I originally only had the timer but then realised the levels can get pretty difficult so needed a way to back out :P.

Hard mode is pretty difficult yet, and I haven't finished nightmare mode but I got close a couple of times so I think its possible! It works on mobile so that might be easier? :P (only slightly though surprisingly)

Thank you :) The difficulty levels were a bit of a guess really, its hard to tell, they might change depending on feedback haha.

haha thanks :).  And yeah when I saw the submissions I was like 'oh... ok' haha, but I'm sure all the variants are fun and have their own individuality so its ok :).  (I haven't got around to playing and voting just yet but I will do that soon)

Thank you :).  It turned out looking a little more like a mesh than glass but it still fits the theme so its not too bad!

No worries! Thanks for the comment!  Moth wasn't in the original equation with this haha, but I can definitely see it!  The tongue and antlers especially, the antlers were meant to just been wild and chaotic :).  Though those who have seen it aren't able to convey what they see well of course so who knows ;D

Thank you, I'm a bit sad I couldn't finish it for the deadline but it happens I guess :).  Ill try to manage my time better next time haha.

I uploaded a new gif, it has a lime green background so should be easy enough to remove now? :).  The software sometimes still causes little holes in the model so if you see that in any of the frames, replacing it with black will probably be a good choice haha.

Hope it is what you were hoping for, let me know!

sure thing, I made a gif of it already but I want to just wait until the voting period for the jam is over because there's a black and white 'limitation' so I didn't want there to be a coloured image just yet.  However if you didn't wish to wait I updated the installation instructions so you can do it yourself.  If you can wait for another 14 hours or so, Ill upload the picture :), sorry about the wait.

  • I could be wrong but I think the arrow keys move 0.25 in space (someone correct me if that isn't true) so move it 4 times if you want to move it by 1
  • I think it varies depending on the mesh, so I don't know off the top of my head sorry
  • the only way I think is looking into the text file that is the model, but then you cant easily distinguish the vertices apart
  • the model coordinates only relate in whatever way you use them, if you have a 1x1 plane and apply a 64x64 pixel texture to it, and then a 128x128 pixel texture, the first will just look more zoomed in if that makes sense? the bigger the texture, the more it gets 'squashed' to fit the face of a model you're applying it to (I recommend just messing with them to see how it works :) )

Hope any of this helped haha

You did a really good job with the pose here! Looks great!

Thank you :)

Ah interesting, Id be curious to see the end result :), yeah it will be easy enough to change. what sorta angle do you want for it?

hahaha! yeah thats unintended... oops, Ill make sure to fix this in the next version, this is what rushing looks like :P.  I will try to fix a lot of things for the next version, but that will be released after the jam's voting period ends.

Thanks for pointing this out to me!

Sure, I can work on that a little later (sorry I must have closed the notification that you commented and so missed it).  What sorta image would be helpful for you? and if you don't mind me asking, what are you wanting to use it for?  just curious :)

Glad you got it to work somewhat, yeah I feel bad that it was submitted in its current state but all the comments will lead to its development and Ill take them all on board :).  Better to be submitted as a proof of concept than not to have tried I guess, so I don't see it as 100% a loss for me.

Spam switch between the inventory? you mean to change items? not really sure how the chest isn't working, maybe something I didn't experience while working on it so more details would be helpful if you would be able to provide them :).

The font is the default font for pico 8 so I just used it for simplicity, but yeah that's another feedback I commonly get so I can try to make a custom one or something.

But yeah, chill desktop toy sorta farming game is what I'm going for, and I know exactly how I want it to be so will make sure it gets there!

Controls are confusing I agree :), and what goal? aha, I will work on it :)
