The cases I mentioned are rare, like really freaking rare.

But RNG is RNG.. if one is unlucky enough then it's possible to run into a lot of them.

I've had a few playthroughs where I've had a lot of problems with similar cases.

Since I prefer getting my stuff from fights in this game I had to adapt to this, most of the time avoiding fights that could end up like this until I've got at least 3-4 STR on my main character and preferably a better weapon. (anything better than longsword)

This is mostly because the enemies don't need plate or the specialization to be close to immune to your damage, and in the same way you can be close to immune to their damage as well. (even a small amount of armor can reduce your damage to 1 if you don't have points in STR with a dagger equipped.. don't even mention if you're out of Energy you get a penalty to damage, which makes these even worse, as you can't even run away if you don't have Energy)

So until lv3 I usually look at fights against "humanoid" enemies as "high risk high reward" fights. (because I always play with perma-death on)

EDIT: forgot to mention but also enemies have a weird way with stats.. some enemy characters can have MORE stat points than what you would expect at their level (seen lv1 characters with up to 6 stat points), with some races this can be a pain cause if one of those is for example a race with high stat cap on STR they will hit like a truck, while a race with high STA cap will be stupidly hard to kill with some armor..

Note: even the lowest level humanoid (capturable) enemies (this includes wanderers) can have stupid high level armor.

Also they can have specializations, and one of those gives armor...

..if (I know this is low chance) they get both the specialization that gives armor AND a strong armor item (HEAVY PLATE) their armor will be enough to bring your damage down to 1, even if you had a longsword and 2-3 strength...

If you read like 2 messages above the one you replied to, you realize that this is without your mod, and I'm actually suggesting using your mod (as I'm using it usually, just had to test without it after I've read the update notes and it said there is a fix..)

Long story short, your mod works wonderfully even with 0.5.20a so no need to change anything in it.

it happens when you open it first time after starting the game always, after that usually it happens when you open the bodies/portraits selection alternatively.. so for example :

start game -> open bodies selection *game hangs* -> open portrait selection *game hangs* -> open portrait selection again *no hang this time* -> open bodies selection *game hangs*..

also if you don't open any of the two for a few minutes it will restart so example :

start game -> open bodies selection *game hangs* -> play for 15-20 mins -> open bodies selection *game hangs*

I know this would probably not be an issue if all of these where on an SSD, but not everyone has an SSD or (in my case) free space on his/her SSD.

Well I don't think we expect them to be tame.. read : they are "monster girls" after all..

Spider(Tsuchigumo) and Slime are pretty much from Japanese ppl being perverts turning horrendously scary things into cuties.. cause why not.

Scylla.. well just look it up, that was a monster even in mythology that looked like an irresistibly charming woman (at least the part it showed above the water before horribly eating those who sailed close enough.. I mean if we look at t this way.. our scyllas are WAY more tame.)

Thanks for the quick fix.

On another note, not trying to be annoying but depending on how big of a portrait/body folder someone has, the game still hangs for considerable time it is on a normal HDD instead of an SSD. (hangs for about 1 and a half minute with 1400+ images in folder.. maybe the right way to fix the problem is something like this mod:  https://itch.io/t/308182/delayed-portrait-loading-v10 ? just a suggestion)

version: 0.5.20a

OS: Windows 7 64 bit

[Bug] : when trying to select a portrait or body image for a slave the selection window has no preview images at all.

Error messages from console:

ERROR: save_image: Method/Function Failed, returning: err

At: drivers/png/resource_saver_png.cpp:93

(these 2 lines just fill up my console window)

Tell me if I get this right.. so if I rush the main quest in ~2-4 days and grab a level 11-13 slave from a random bandit camp before the "sacrifice" quest part, then if I didn't level my "story" slaves there is no chance for them to be selected for it, because the lv11 slave (even if I didn't even touch them aside from capturing them) will have too high of a  "score" so it will always get targeted for the "sacrifice" ?

(assuming I get a "story" slave at day one and they stay lv1, I interact with them every day (including sex), they get a score of 4(ownership)+12(sex)+0(win)+7(level)=23 while the random lv11 bandit I just dragged home that day gets 77 just from her level?..)

Looking at the formula it does look like the main target will be your best combat slave if you're not rushing tho..

..by the way, what happens if you reach that part of the quest with either no slaves or all slaves in "away" status ?

NO SELL has 2 problems imho, first that there is no real issue with the "lack" of income from it, second that you'll have serious problems with mansion upgrade points.. (you start with 20 and get 4 from a quest, I'm not sure that's enough fro all the main quest mandatory upgrades)

I mean.. who needs gold from slave sales when bandits can just gift you 10k+ gold in a single encounter ?

Mansion upgrade points on the other hand.. we really need an alternative way to get them..

33% reduction in damage and the lack of combat skills won't stop a well geared main character from massacring lv11+ bandit camps even if there are 13+ enemies.. (in which case the ui doesn't even let the player target the last few enemies directly with skills)

Stamina is no issue once invigorate is unlocked as long as the main char is combat ready (cause for some reason invigorate can be used on the main character who doesn't get any stress problems from it, and benefits twice from it at the same time, as it gives the main character 100 energy on use).
