Thanks, really glad that you liked the story. I knew I was right to spend so much time in writing the dialog and using tools for the voice acting.

Honestly, I think could've made the gameplay much more engaging if I had more time and experience in making games.

Also, what did you think of the ending? Was it too vague? A lot of people didn't really get what I was going for.

The game is simple but quite well made. I like the achievement popups and powers. You could easily expand this by adding more enemies and making the play field bigger.

The gun in the game's cover doesn't look like a gun, but... something else, if you know what I mean ;)

Hey, thanks for reaching out. The game's story follows a few myths. The overall story can be described as a corrupted version of the return of the prodigal son myth.

It also loosely follows the hero's myth. Victor initially gets hints of the special world during his first case. He's lured into this new world by a fairy-like creature (the homunculus). At the end he becomes a part of this new world.

There are also mentions of a higher power and how it is responsible for all the strange and evil things in the world.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks a lot

The game is pretty entertaining. Would've loved to see more levels and more dialog. My only complaint is that the jumping feels a bit off.

Also drop me your discord so we can talk further

You should try the original.

is this fine: https://itch.io/profile/saarishtthaman

Hey thanks, appreciate it. You should try both Deus Ex and Dark Souls (any of the souls games like Bloodborne, Elden ring).
I have played both re4 original and remake. I prefer the gameplay of remake over the original due to the parry mechanic but the original has a better tone and dialog.

Hey, thanks for the feedback.

Thanks a lot! I would say I'm a beginner as I have only made about 4-5 complete games. I haven't really made any 3D games. I have only used unity for game development.

I have added that to my watch later, will surely give it a listen today.

My favourite game is probably the original deus ex or dark souls 1. I have played and beaten both limbo and inside and I think they're amazing games.

Whoa, I would love the opportunity to be a judge, thank you so much!

Hey, thanks for the comment. I'm gonna be honest, I have worked on this game for 2 weeks and just finished it today. I am making this for another game jam but I just read that they don't allow generative ai so I'd be disqualified anyway. So, I submitted this a few more game jams where the theme matches somewhat just to get some more feedback.

I don't feel like removing the generative ai voices because I started with the idea that the game would have voice acting to make it more immersive.

Edit: as for the deeper meaning, I was going for the angle that all evil things are also made by God. You can find more about that in the game after beating the boss of floor 3. The overall theme of the game is obviously noir + lovecraftian.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I personally think that voice acting adds a lot of immersion to the game, so that's why I went with that.

As for the health, you can see the boss's health as a red bar at the top and the player's health is displayed at the bottom left. Maybe you weren't playing it on full screen?

Edit: The game is finished now

Hey thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I'm short of time as this is for a game jam and making all the animations for a dodge roll would be a lot of work. I'm just trying to finish up all the bosses and the story.

I spent too much time making the sprites and the animations and don't have any time left for coming up with good game mechanics.

Agreed. The page looks pretty good.

Thanks!

This is pretty good

Nice, I hope you update this and add content to it

very nice

First of all, the game looks beautiful. The animations are satisfying to look at and the world feels good to move around in. The game has some interesting mechanics with a lively cast of characters. I can go around saying good things about the demo but I'll instead move on to the negative points which I think will need to be looked over and methodically fixed for the game to reach its full potential.

- The level design in not intuitive and I felt lost. Shortcuts weren't user properly and didn't make a lot of sense

- Combat and parkour are very clunky and need to be fixed

- The demo had pacing issues. A lot of characters to talk to concentrated in regions makes the journey rather tedious.

- Although beautiful, I personally think that the color palette used in a lot of scenes in the game is way too saturated and hurts to look at sometimes (just might be a thing with my screen)

- You had to climb up the bookcases in the 3rd phase of the boss fight wasn't very apparent

Doot

Just a little game/concept I was able to finish up in about 5 hours.
