Gameplay Since most of the bosses are fairly stationary, the healing/charging mechanic is interestingly implemented because even if the player could wait until a simpler attack sequence to begin, they will also get locked out of their offensive ability which could potentially encourage them to go for a risky charge, or keep playing it safe and take a longer time whittling down the boss’s health.

I’m not sure if this is the case, but the bullets seem to do flat damage, regardless of where the boss is hit. Since bullets also use up the speed meter to be fired, maybe consider adding small weakspots to reward players for properly aiming their shots.

Misc As for the sound effects, maybe consider adding slight pitch variations to make them sound less repetitive.

Anyway, the gameplay itself is pretty fun and the idea of a mech-y spinning top is great. Congratulations on finishing your entry!

It was great! Was a bit unsure at what you’re supposed to do at the start, though. Since the dimmed-out boss sprite kinda gave the impression that it’s a bit farther into the background than it is. Other than that, it’s a fairly decent experience.

Hello there. I have some experience with Godot's 2D workflow. I can write gameplay/UI logic in both GDScript and C#, and can make simple art assets, if needed. If your team still has room for another member, I'd be happy to lend a hand!

Thank you for playing! That is most certainly a bug. Currently, there seems to be an issue with the web player on some device/browser pairings. If possible, could you try using a native build? They are stabler and is generally more performant than the HTML5 version. I'll look into fixing it as soon as I get back on my computer.

(Edit: This issue should be fixed in the 1.0.1 WebGL build.)

Thank you for playing! Have you tried using a native build? The web player can be a bit buggy on some device/browser combos. As for the world feeling a bit empty... I was originally planning on adding a bit more to it. Like finding items and rabbithole events. But, I was running a bit short on time.

(Edit: The jumping mini-game bug is fixed in the v.1.0.1 web build.)

Thanks!

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I was planning on adding more events for the 'overworld'. But I was running short on time :)

Thank you for playing!

Thanks! I just set the page colours to match my game's. This page has a lot of useful information, if you're interested: https://itch.io/docs/creators/design
