While it starts very suddenly, the gameplay is rather intuitive and easy to learn without instructions. I was confused on how the currency worked as I did not even notice there being any before finding the shop keeper guy and finding that I was broke. I assume there will be more card variations and mechanics as the game progresses, but I enjoyed everything gameplay wise so far.

I love the aesthetic of the game and I'm still wondering how you managed to create such a clear 3d first person perspective with hand drawn images. I did notice a few graphical bugs in the OSX Silicon version:

1) Text on cards would occasionally be covered by a black square around each character that made it difficult to read. This is probably a transparency depth issue as it would fix itself depending on the camera angle

2) When the pause menu is open some UI buttons in main game would still respond to mouse inputs. This leads to several misclicks when trying to access settings.

3) The fade screen is overlayed on top of the settings menu which can make it unreadable if the game is paused between transitions.

I would also recommend making some HUD elements more noticeable as the icons in the corner feel very small and inconsiderable in design.

The music is amazing! the way it shifts to fit the story without any noticeable seams is extremely impressive. All of the pixel art is also really great, and the story feels like a prologue to a longer game with characters having distinct personalities and relationships with each other. The game is immediately engaging with its dramatic narration and plot hook and all with a high level of polish.

I really liked this game. The enemy and the death screen effects come across are very unsettling compared to the rest of the environment which sells the aberration theme in its own way. The music also fits this well, but it could have used some more variation in terms of sound effects, or at least pause the music during death and menu screen. It could have worked well with more enemies that you have to keep track of as the game is pretty easy once you know how to dodge him.

Also, I really liked the hidden notes. It really ties in the feeling that the place was once worked in and encourages exploration.

Quite simple, but the game works really well. I really liked the environment with its soft world building. The movement is a little disorienting and confusing at first, but once you mess around for a little bit then it makes sense. I personally wish that the game was longer and spent more time introducing the movement and expanding on it in a more complex map. The ambience feels especially desolate and empty with its vacuous fog, but this could have been further enhanced with some more sound design other than just some birds. Maybe increase a wind swooshing noise by how fast you are moving too make jumps feel more impactful. Regardless, I think this is the most engaging game I have played in this Jam so far based on feel alone.

Every time I bet level 4 then it just repeats. Not sure if this is a bug or just a time constraint. Regardless, there are interesting mechanics at play, the game is just very short. I especially thought that the object that changes the level as you carry it around was interesting.

The game looks amazing, and I especially love the Ale's character portrait. Aesthetically, using real life photo's to represent the Aberration's creates a great juxtaposition between the creatures and the world around them. The music is also great and adds to this feeling, but the game could have used some sound effects for attacks and sacrifices. The gameplay is kind of stale, and can be broken easily. Read below for how to break:

When the key options pop up, you can spam the button and kill every enemy (including the final boss) with a single attack. You don't even have to look at the key, since you can press all of them at once. Also, there does not seem to be object collision in the over world. Still a great game, for what was made in 2 weeks.

If you want to have a great time walk through the train door (it has no collision), then go to the train terminal and start spamming 'R'. the train just continually speeds up and spins in circles. 10/10
