I jump around a lot between rules systems. Even Rules-Lite systems. I find that I forget at times that Kooks uses 2d10 rather than 1d20. Oh my!

Well, my players are kind enough to remind me, but... it doesn't seem to make big differences. The real difference is the lack of the 'curve'. 1d20 has no curve. So if you want to use a 1d20 rather than 2d10 just remember to adjust the critical hits and misses... or not. Its up to you!

Any big changes?

I just had a chance to read this through, and I downloaded the latest version (6.2e?). The next time I have a game fall apart, but one or more people show up I think I am going to run this.

(1 edit)

Hmmmm. Yes, that is a little more complicated than I expected, but not a bad thing. I can see how it could be tempting to allow the corruption points to build up to improve spellcasting, but then it will become even more difficult to remove. Interesting! Thanks for the explanation!

I like the ideas and the tables are awesome! but...

I was a little confused by one thing: on page 11 it states that you can 'remove 2 corruption point: 1pt for every 3 existing levels of corruption'. Does an advancement point remove one corruption point or three?

I am going to really try to make no further changes to the rules, or if I do wait until 1st January 2025 to post them. I just thought the recent changes were kind of important.

I look forward to looking this over this weekend!

Hello. I read through your new set of rules 'Roll Them All' and I liked what I saw. I had a few questions/comments: On page 8, I really didn't understand how the Ability stats/die worked -- if you have a d20 does that mean you roll a d20 for that ability, or does it mean your ability stat is 20 + a d20 roll? I like the idea that you can choose how to act or respond -- physical or mental, and that you can use all those abilities if they apply. However, how is the best way to determine whether or not an ability is appropriate? And what exactly is the Sense ability? Is it about an ability to use your sensory sensations (sight, sound, smell, feel, etc.) or is it more an ability to use intuition and experience to figure out things that are not necessarily related to knowledge or wisdom?

"What is the 2d10 system you ask? It is intended to replace the 1d20 used commonly in some RPG systems. I think the big advantage of using 2d10 instead of 1d20 is that the roll results in a ‘bell curve’ with most of the results in the center, and fewer at the outliers — in other words it is more unlikely to roll very high or very low. This does create some changes that should be considered by the GM as noted in this blog post."

Here is the review of the game and some ideas on the 2d10 system.

https://squirewaldo.itch.io/history-squares

Each player begins the game by randomly selecting a semi-historical Nation and then competes with the other players to conquer squares on the map board in order to expand the player’s Dominion. Each player receives Coins for each square he or she conquers. As the player’s Nation expands it reaches the limits of that Nation’s further growth. At that point the player may choose to put that Nation into Decline and then select another Nation to expand. The player with the most Coins wins!

The Hobo Way -- Challenges of Modern Survival

https://squirewaldo.itch.io/the-hobo-way

Hello. Just reminding people that this Jam is going until the end of the month. For some reason it was not put on the calendar and no one at ITCHIO can explain why. I am sure I did something wrong, but I don't know what.

Still plenty of time though for you to participate!

I really liked this game and I am eager to play it.
I wrote a brief review which I hope I can update after playing!

REVIEW: Stargazer, by Scott Malthouse

I have been updating the cards one per day. If you have not checked it out give it a look!

https://squirewaldo.itch.io/dr-not-so-nice-character-card-minions

Well done!

I was thinking about how it might be more fun to be the bad guys in an adventure!

Oh. So sorry. I thought that was you! :) Thank you for the info!

Is there someone I could ask that could answer?

Hello again! It looks like my Jam is not going to be put on the calendar. I will live. :)

But I do wonder what I did wrong?

If I ever decide to do another Jam, unlikely, I would like to know what to do and what not to do. I followed all the rules that were provided, I think. It would be nice to know what I need to do in the future.

Thank you so much!

Annoying Pack of Chihuahuas. These are PETS in reality and per the rules.

It started on the 1st of February, and will continue until the end of the month. I am not sure why, but ITCHIO will not put it on the calendar. A bit of a head scratcher since I think it meets all the requirements and does not violate any of their many rules, but whatever! ITS STILL OPEN!

Feel free to join if you would like to participate, and please share it on other social media!

Yeah, I went and finished that Sword & Sorcery adventure I was working on. I think the other parody ones will just begin with the characters and some NPCs.

Ok. Thank you!

Here is the link to the latest adventure:

https://squirewaldo.itch.io/the-fearful-forest

Any idea why it is not on the Calendar?

I have two ideas I am fiddling with:

1. A parody of Austin Powers. Perhaps just a collection of PCs/NPCs.

2. A parody of Gilligan's Island. Again perhaps just the characters.

What crazy ideas are you thinking about?

Let me know! I would be happy to help, but my psychotic powers are not what they once were. Let me know, or just post here in the forum and perhaps someone else will help!

Is there anything I can do to get this Jam indexed?

This adventure is designed to be used with Pulp Kharma v.2, and has been submitted as part of the Pulp Kharma TTRPG February 2023 Jam.

“The Fearful Forest” is intended to be a one shot that lasts about two hours. Although I have attached some pre-generated characters I do encourage the players to

Check it out!

Thank you for the submission! Oh that was me!

Do you have any thoughts on how to improve T.W.O. RPG without changing the goal?

I am working on a Sword & Sorcery complete adventure. It started out on simple premise but is expanding as I go. Perhaps I should break it up into pieces?
