The new password appears. Today I tried it again; both changing to a temp PW and going back to the original and today it worked. So somehow this conversation got it to working. I'll test it again sometime.
I appreciate your time and your advice.
Thanks - but what you're saying is what I mean. And it doesn't work. I change the PW so people can play the game. I do this knowing the old one wont work. I do not want to grant permanent access with a downlod key. Nor do my clients want to have to create an itch account.
After they played (using the new PW) I would change the PW so they could not access the game. What I'm saying is, the last few times I did this the new PW, even though I saved the change via the button) would not work. I can only use the original PW. That's a problem in the Restricted Access design.
Hi Leafo, thanks for your answer. The issue on the Restricted field is that if I wanted to guide a group of people to play my gmae (it's part of a workshop I teach) then I would temporaily change the password in that field so they could access it without ever knowing my game password. Then after the class I would change the Restricted PW back to my game PW so that if anyone who played the game before would not be able to access it again. But the last few times I tried it, the access page that requests the PW would say it was the wrong one. I would be forced to give my actual game PW. If you have advice, I'd appreciate your thoughts.
I used to be able to change the password in my game's "Restricted access settings" so that I could have groups play for free. Now, not even the temporary password, or even my account PW doesn't work. What is Restricted Access settings for then?
I also made Download Keys but the user has to create an Itch account and most people don't want to. How can I give specific people temporary access?
Thanks for your response. Not being the game designer, I'll have to get the answers to those questions. At this time, I have my teams in Zoom, divide them into breakout groups of 6, and then they receive the user name and PW for the day and go off into their separtate teams to play.
Thanks for the referrals of what to look into.
Hello community,
I developed a game for corporate trainings and have used it with private clients for the last three years. I am contemplating making it available for corporate groups to purchase incidences of play, for one team at a time (6 players per game) or multiple teams at a time. There are some articles on itch, however I still have questions.
I'm wondering if there's anyone in this community who has a game available for multiple players and concurrent users who would help me wrap my head around how to launch this. I would want to either message a conversation or chat for about 20 minutes.
Thanks!
