Should consider upgrading to a 64-bit Windows, CPUs have been supporting 64-bit since 2004, no reason to stick to 32-bit.

The gameplay is moreso based on Phantasy Star Online and MapleStory, with a hint of Diablo.

Might also be where those Roblox RPGs get their influence.

Unlocked at level 10, like the guy above me said. Angela, Sally, and Enok will then have quests you can start that give you a tome in your consumables. Just be super careful about what tome you pick, as unfortunately you won't be able to walk it back without deleting the character and starting over from level 1. There really should be a class re-spec, I ended up getting screwed over by my dyslexia and had to start over.

Been wondering the same thing. I hope I can transfer them over, as I spent quite a lot of time with my characters.

That loading screen is straight up a reference to Phantasy Star Online 1, which the gameplay of Atlyss is mostly based on. You can also move the sparkle effect just like in PSO.

I accidentally clicked on the  wrong book in my inventory (thanks again, Dyslexia), and now I've permanently fucked myself over and lost hours of gameplay and my life I'm not getting back, not to mention a bunch of items I found since I had to delete my save. I'm beside myself right now.

EDIT: Why locked? It's not like I hate the game or anything (I really enjoy it, it's a blend of my favourite classic aRPGs/MMOs), but I am crestfallen that I lost so much progress so easily, my time means everything to me because I don't exactly have much of it left. There really should be a way to walk it back, even if it ends up resetting your level back to 10 (the level you get a class at).

I wasn't trying to come off as antagonistic, sorry... I am going through a lot right as of late and my mental state hasn't been the best... to say the least.

Out of curiosity, did you end up putting any points into your attributes? I went up about 7 levels without realizing that I needed to assign them, and was wondering why things were as tough as they were, but once I finally started getting those stats up, it got a lot better. Still challenging, but doable.
