I think I got stuck in the opening room in the web build. I chose mage.
Edit: Realized I needed to hold the direction of what and who I wanted to interact with.
Overall very nice! Pretty good length for a game jam game. I feel like running is way overpowered but then again, it's hand for when the ghost shows up. Only issue I found was the tumble down the stairs didn't trigger the first time so I had to go back up to check what to do then I tumbled.
Accidently rated it before completing it. Had several tabs open going through games. Sorry for the random rating out of the blue.
Control list would be nice. I don't know RPG maker's default controls off the top of my head.
The minute countdown is a bit long to just restart the game. I would consider making it shorter or adding more interaction during the countdown.
The maze doesn't feel worth it. There is no frame of reference to gauge if you're moving left to right once you get into the middle. I couldn't bother with the second maze.
Please make the mazes a bit easier to get through.
Pretty short and to the point. It would be nice if the normal loops were a bit shorter to walk. The last one feels like a good tease. Not obvious that you can talk to the cat with left click. Also the text box can be covered by the player.
Otherwise short and sweet. If you want to try out another story based game, check out our submission.
Pretty nice. I can't rate the entry sadly but I will say the sprites are amazing, the filter is okay (I'd prefer it if the paper crinkle was applied to each object instead of the entire screen but time is of the essence here. The different bullet types didn't seem to have much difference. They all seemed to kill. Maybe I didn't get far enough to see the different effects.
Fun entry overall.

Surprise!
Pix is a 2D platforming game by team Surprise!_Crabs? made in less than a month originally for a university game design course. Our small team of three is pretty excited about what we have made, and so we wanted to share it with the indie community!
About the game:
Pix is a painter who uses his magical paintbrush to shape the world around him. Each world has a different art style, with different challenges and enemies. Pix will fight enemies, build platforms, navigate jumping puzzles, collect coins, and finally defeat a boss enemy.
The game currently has 4 main levels, which make up one world. The prototype world includes pixel art recreations done in the style of Piet Mondrian. The mechanics are largely inspired by Shovel Knight, including a similar feeling bounce attack.
Going forward...
We are very interested in continuing to support Pix as long as we can, especially if there is some interest in it. We want to add at least 2-3 more worlds with different art styles, add more to the shop, and even have controller support. Please give us any feedback you have, either through itch.io or directly at surprisecrabsdevelopers@gmail.com
Enjoy these screenshots, and the game!
