Really fun! A little tough for bad hands to play. I recommend games don't ask to hold something for long periods or repeatedly click on them, like in Garden Simulator that came out I think late last year, they had to change their clipping function where you could hold it down instead of repeatedly clicking? Got painful to constantly click the whole game. I'm not using the function the entire time but the pace of the game, you can afford the break. In this one, the entire game I'm holding it down and it gets painful pretty fast. Making it toggleable isn't hard! Or a toggle setting, to make it toggleable! haha.

Long winded explanation: Gimme a toggle option if you make another game like this.

Understandable. One thing that helped me in art is that it is a waste of time to fiddle with making something perfect instead of taking the lessons learned onto a new project. Good luck with your new one! I'll look out for it.

I noticed the same thing. I finally got it working only to have $6 and it wouldn't generate anything.

Great concept. I think it was a little rough but thats okay! It looked real cool.

1. Clicking on their bodies while they're sitting down does nothing, you have to click on their face which is very confusing. I guess the active area for that button should be bigger.
2. Lots of menu delays. I'm not sure what thats about and I haven't encountered it so severely before. I know very little of gamedev so unfortunately i can't say why its happening or how to fix it.

3. If the person leaves the train while you're in their menu, it kinda breaks. You can't exit the menu for some reason, but I can spam drop off until I have a bad day.
4. Sometimes I'll assume that if I click on someone elses head while in the menu, it could be a faster way to switch between characters. This isn't the case which is fine, but the clicking noise makes me think it is doing something and there is no feedback. It might be cool if you could do this or if the clicking noise could only happen when you've successfully clicked something.

Pretty cool! I wish the recipe book was a little more detailed. Right mouse button did nothing for me, so, it could just be that? But I'm having trouble figuring out the bravery potion while looking through all the combinations

Hello! I thought I would post here while I'm sending out applications. I am able to work remote, work in North/East Bay, or drive down to San Francisco. Remote work is always welcomed, and requires a little less incentive. However, there is something to be said about the studio experience. Here is my portfolio

If you are looking for a(n)...

  • Art Generalist
  • Character Designer
  • Promotional Artist

Then I would love to help with your project!

Experience:

I have finished one game jam, resulting in: Keywater

I was also the Head Artist for six months for a top-down JRPG called Immortal Doctrine. There, you can see some of the work I did on the project through my portfolio.

Before that, I had been consistently working on freelance commissions for a year.

Rates:

$15-$25/hr, depending on the work I'd be doing and the commute time.

Music felt so mellow and chill, but then you're reading and you're like 'oh right people were murdered', which you can kinda feel in the text font. A middle ground with the script and visuals would be nice.

I really do love the track though. With appropriate sound effects this all could have tied in well. The tracks give me the same feelings the calmer moments of oxenfree had.

I wanna just like leave the game running. Music so nice.

I'm an artist- but as far as game development, most of the games I've been interested in making? I'm limited to background art, concept art, and promotional art. But I want to make art for the games itself! I want to learn 3D, but we're not getting into that yet. Pixels.

So I want to practice making a few pixel sprites and backgrounds. I am having a lot of trouble wrapping my head around tilesets, though. Does anyone have a recommended template, pixel size, or anything? And do you just almost make like a small picture within that tileset (say your game has 9x9 tiles) do I just try to think of things in that size? It'd take up two tiles, but not go all the way to the top, if I wanted my character to be taller? Or a tree thats taller? Do I generally keep things in that size? I want to practice by making some cool assets, and eventually make my own game. For now, though, I'll probably stick to sidescrolling perspective or top-down while I figure things out.

Those are actually really good! Lemme know if you need another hand on art let me know.

I would love to join your farming simulator project or crafting game project.

If you're looking for someone to help you with character art for your game, or draw portraits/promotional art for it, I'd love to join. My style is quite a bite cleaner than this normally, but it's the first example I had on hand. Check out my tumblr before everything gets flagged for female-presenting nipples @ghostinas

Feel free to skim holy shit this is long for no reason

I have been a digital artist for almost 10 years now, and I never thought that I could tell a story the way that games can with my medium. I haven’t tried comics yet, but I really love video games. I have a few ideas for stories, I’m constantly writing these long, slightly unorganized documents about ideas in my head. I love creating skill trees and RPG systems, and pretending I can write code and how I would go about it, based on what little knowledge I have on the subject.

I want to create some kind of small crafting or farming game, preferrably with a dark tone. I don’t want to join a cutesy farming project, though. Unless there was a pretty impressive art direction involved.

I am still a novice as far as most assets, and dimensions and scaling is something I’m not familiar with. I have heard a lot of different preferences as far as pixel counts, which bugs me because I prefer trying to do stuff exactly right the first time rather than backtracking and tweaking. I have purchased a few dollars worth of assets for studying purposes. .

I’d probably be best at Conceptual Art, Promotional Art, Still assets, portraits, or UI design. I can also make icons, especially for crafting trees and such. Pixel art magic icons also sound incredibly fun.

One day when I’m decent at it, I’ll probably fully just practice on tilesets and other assets to set up here on itch.io in the market.

Also, I love writing! Skip to contact info if you’re not interested in that for your team. I don’t know if I could collaborate, I’m very selfish with idea generation and I’m not always satisfied by other people’s tweaks to them. However, I can be a helpful consultant for you. I love using my psychology studies to help a plot along

I’d also love to write an astrology-based game and magic system! I have something of a plot, but it should be condensed, or tweaked, if not used anyways. I also used the characters I created, brought them to a normal, low-fantasy setting for a farming game with an emphasis on creating relationships. Taking your crafts and materials to help your friends rebuild their stores, but they might not be as helpful if they don’t like your moral choices. As far as the astrology game, it just sounds fun to create these magic systems and a cool character creation system  I’d also love a very small project, of creating characters based off of birthdays using a color wheel for the hues of the skin  however, putting in a database of birthdays sounds too difficult to program. It would be cool to find someone who loves astrology, and is very knowledgeable on the subject  I would also think it could be a cool collaboration of three people, and recruit an astrology hobbyist for the project, too

My artworks can be found @ghostinas on tumblr, Instagram, or twitter. Add me on discord @sweetghost#1332, I am much more active on discord than itch.io, especially because I don’t know if this will even get any traffic.

EDIT: It gets traffic but no one makes comments :( Present your ideas below first before just adding me on discord!

I think this might be part of the game. You can see it best when you eat cooked meat. If the white bar isn't entirely depleted, you won't get all the energy.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but the 'system' wouldn't open anything and the save/load function that looks like it's been out since Alpha 4 does not work for me.
