So this jam’s theme turned out to match the game that I had wanted to make since a long time, inspired by Dome Keeper (go check it out!), the game which inspired me to take up Godot as my engine in the first place ^^
So on top of going straight into overscope hell, and with meatspace quests taking up most of my waking hours, I didn’t have enough time to make a playable submission 🥲
The original plan was supposed to go like this:
- You play a wizard aspiring to raise your own tower.
- Game loop cycles between day & night. In the daytime you harvest resources & build defenses. At night you have to survive against hordes of invaders.
- You can spend resources to upgrade your tower and use monster souls as XP to gain new abilities.
- There would be a boss after a certain number of nights then you’d go to the next map.
This submission is a very rough alpha prototype of those ideas. If anyone wants to join in on its development as a pixel/VFX artist or secondary coder, lemme know!
