Good work!  I somehow didn't read the jumpscare warning because I'm so focused on looking for controls, but the audio didn't blow my speakers but did get my attention!  One weird thing is having to advance the text after finding a light.  I got most of them but it still said "5 left" and I was worried it was broken till I remembered to hit enter.  I also really appreciate the text showing in place (instead of moving out from the center) as well as quick-showing it all on enter.

Thanks for the jump scare warning and full screen mode. I would not have been able to read the text without it. The game was fun and the first time I saw a monster it did raise my heart rate! The sprites are pretty cool and I love that the monster has a bit of color! As others have said it is a little like a walking simulator as it is now, but a great foundation!

Nice job man! The music and atmosphere, along with the message, were really put together well. As others have said, the monsters don't do anything and the flashlight isn't too necessary, but upon reading your responses, it was just a time problem more than anything else. It was pretty scary too!

Got jumpscared a few times not gonna lie, even tough the game is simple it managed to scare me. Good Job

Pros:

- Fits the theme pretty well

- It actually is a little scary

- Controls are easy to use

Cons:

- There's no actual incentive to use the flashlight and risk losing, you can just walk until you get all light bulbs without wasting your battery

- The enemies don't seem to kill you? I got cornered by one but didn't die it kind of took out the fear factor after that

- The game ends pretty abruptly and doesn't let you retry or go back to the menu without restarting the game

Besides all that i think this is a good one.

Haha I'm glad the jump scares worked, thanks for checking it out!

Fun game! Gave me the creeps whenever the monster got close to me as I tried to find the right paths to a lightbulb. Maybe not so challenging, I managed to dodge every encounter with that thing and didn't realize it can't kill me until I read other comments. Still, the eeriness is on point.

Spooky! But the monster does nothing?

I ran out of time to code that, but thanks for playing!

As Maaack said, liked the atmosphere but i guess its missing the risk and reward as there is no way to loose.

Developer

Yeah I agree,  I just ran out of time to code that system so I tried to make the atmosphere insinuate that risk, thanks for playing!

Nice job setting the atmosphere. I felt my heart rate pickup. I liked that the theme played a little into the mechanics, not just a narrative.

The movement felt pretty aimless. Once I saw a light, there wasn't a lot to the strategy of getting to it. Also, the flashlight didn't seem useful enough to me to warrant having to watch the battery or possibly lose the game. The ambient sounds work really, really well, though.

Nice work!

Thanks for playing! Next time I make a jam on my own I might try to get some play testers cause it can be hard to judge difficulty by yourself when you're the only one who made the game lol, I was afraid of making the maze too difficult to navigate.
