I was able to fix the issue with your plugin https://hakuenstudio.itch.io/extra-map-scroll-for-rpg-maker-mz with the tradeoff that it doesn't stop scrolling and more of the parallax is shown. When someone is at the end of the pathway they will be at the center instead of the corner of the screen

Hakuen do you know if there's a way to make it so game scrolls to the edge of the map normally instead of slowly? I was looking into the code and description and I realized this relies in something that already exists in the engine ^^u so I don't know how much freedom we have with this. If you know of a way we can do that it would be great

I figured it out! I think the plugin only works if you set the top, center, and bottom settings. You don't have to change anything, just open it and press okay. You might have to properly change the settings though if you want them to appear where they should be. Here's a video of the fix




I am not sure if this is expected behavior, I am new to using rpg maker mz but I haven't had this issue happen on other plugins yet. This might be a Linux only issue (I use the engine through wine), but if this is expected behavior having some default settings for those would be very helpful for first timers. That way you can just set and forget

Great, best of luck in working on the game and I am glad you are looking into fixing the issues and taking the suggestions! The one about the failed scroll can also be solved if the game told you about how a scroll may not work if you misread it! Like a person or a book in a library, "make sure to read scrolls properly!" "careful reading random scroll you find lying around" maybe there are other paths you can take too, but you know if the character also doesn't know it shouldn't be called "scroll of regeneration" (unless the character is that stupid that they knowledge the title of the scroll and decided to ignore it, definetely a possibility). This could be more complicated though if the titles are adaptive, since it would at first say "scroll of death" and once the character reaches a higher intelligence stat after reading it would have to say "scroll of regeneration".

I just rambled off there into a train of thought :P I didn't mean it as a feature suggestion I guess but you can do that if you want to. I think scrolls work fine as they are now, even if it's not evident and I never found out on my own it's just another layer of difficulty and learning curve to the game, and like I said there's many different ways to communicate that better if you want to make it easier to understand

I can't help but tease a little bit, I have so much more of these things planned xD. It takes a lot of time to add them though, cause while I have the ideas, I'm bad at words (especially in English), so I have a wonderful writer who brings these ideas to life, and it takes a lot of iterations to achieve what I want.

I really want to see them! There's so much you can do when you have all the freedom of a dream world. I hope you don't slack off on the writing despite having a writer, it's important to learn especially the small things, like punctuations and properly spelling words, and avoiding bad writing habits. English is also not my first language, but it's through practice that I have a lot of confidence in my english nowadays! (I am also aware of my weaknesses, like vocab, but I am working on it. The clumsyness though is hard to avoid :P)

To really move diagonally in one turn, you can use 1-3-7-9 buttons on NumPad, if you got one, or clicks. Just thought it might be important to note, cause it clutch situations spending extra turn to move might matter.

I am probably going to be the first to get a speedrun record on this game. That's such a great advice! I wish I thought of that

I think about implementing a mechanic that if you're about to step on a tile with an item, and your inventory is full, you would push the item (Sokoban style). So you would see you can't pick it up immediately, and won't lose the chance to do it later.

I think the player can get stuck if you do this and you implement doors / narrow pathways. It's easy to imagine with zelda games and super mario odyssey since these puzzles are supposed to get you stuck if you don't think about it. Since the player can drop and pick up items, it might be easy to not get stuck but it might come at the cost of a valuable turn and it would force the player to drop the item.

I really wish you could walk through it instead, but if you can't, are you able to instead whenever the player interacts with the item, make it so the player doesn't move towards the item (action is blocked). Instead, it prompts the player if they want to discard the item, take it, push it, or ignore it. If they ignore it, nothing happens, they don't move forward they just stay where they were.

It would be great if that's possible. If you can't prompt the player before taking an action, and an action has to be taken, then I think pushing it is better since the alternative is a lot less frustrating.

Nope, I included the version I played at the top of my comment. I haven't played since December, but I tested the new version just now and it's fixed now

btw, if you want me to test the game any time let me know. I can't really play the whole game because I want to be able to see a lot of new things once the game is finished and also write freely about it, but if you tell me where to look I'll look there (example: new experimental level, testing if the game works on linux or android or browser, thoughts on new mechanic or difficullty, etc). I'll try to pay attention to your discord if you ever make announcements asking for help, but I am bad at keeping up with discord, I am trying to be better at it.

That's a good idea too, try to add traps too. You already have some, but I mean traps that work like puzzles. I think they work really well when combined with new items. Making a game replayable is a true mistery, I was thinking of Pixel Dungeon here and how they do it (not the best example since a big appeal of it is the difficulty, it would be tragic if people lost their fapping privileges because the game is too hard).

I think you already know this since you already do this: The player learning something new through their runs is something that can really help make the game replayable. I just hope you don't say too much when you male that encyclopedia. There's things that you can exclude, because for example "Sarah loves ice cream" is a detail that might be too personal to find in a bottle or a book. It's nice if the player can get rewarded with knowledge for making the right decisions in these dreams or for being very perceptive.

One note though: the description given to you is based on character's Intelligence

I hope you don't shelve this so much that you accidentally create a mechanic that relies on your current walking mechanics, might be better to work on that before trying to balance the difficulty

I'm not a fan of game over scenes, cause it gives me two contradicting goals:
(1) I want to progress the story / beat the game, so I should do my best.
(2) I don't want to miss out on content, so I should lose to see the scenes.

I can see that, and I agree! It's true that it really kills the pace and it lowers the quality of the gameplay, they are only good as a fetish. I just want to see more content and more scenes, even with text alone, give me a satisfying reason to not ignore the text after the first succesful encounter.

Currently, browser version should be playable on mobile (although I'm sure there might be issues, please let me know if you find something specific). I can't promise more unfortunately, cause making a proper Android version is a huge commitment.

That's understandable, just running most android nsfw games on itch.io is already a challenge and I tend to find more bugs on mobile. Maybe someone can make it for you, maybe a volunteer or if the game makes enough profit you have some money to spare, that seems like the best outcome. I think if you tried to do it that would take a lot of time away from developing a lot of features in the game, and it will suck that the mobile version will often break when you update it

The game will highlight this with "You probably misread something" message.

Any time I read that, I always assumed that is what's just always meant to happen regardless.... I don't know if that's my fault. I think it would be more obvious if it said "uh oh, you misread something" because it's no longer a probability and no one can assume the game is just (trying to tease?) or even more if it says "ah! I misread something"

I have bad habits with english like dismissing things I shouldn't, because english doesn't make sense and is often not literal, it's a song. My teacher agrees with me. Also focusing too much on some words or sentences. What I said here should be taken with a grain of salt.

I might revamp the UI for inventory completely one day, so this limitation will go away.

I usually write long comments with all my feedback and thoughts when I play these games, this is the one I drafted and it's not perfect. I think some things could had been said or explained better, but sometimes I just write a template to myself to build upon. Like I was planning to go in depth on at least one of the monster girls and also to see at least one storyline (I think I read something on a vampire having one). I usually reword and rewrite the whole thing once I am done. Hopefully it has something that will be helpful in the development! I will write another one when I play it again

In case I didn't say it before. I have to say, I got the best start to the game. The best presentation. It was succubus queen first which made me understand how the game works, and then Yuki Onna which really hooked me in by showing me some of the best the game has to offer. I don't remember if they are scripted, but if they aren't, I really think you should make the first few levels people go through on their first playthrough consistent. Just to hook people. If you can't do that now, it may be possible later as more levels are added.

Note: Review in progress, I barely understand the game and I am new to it.

Note2: It's way too early in development to provide my thoughts on it properly. Some things that are underdeveloped can really kill my motivation to write here because I know it will be fixed in an update (but I also can't ignore it). I think I stopped after dying at the level filled with ghosts, he's already thinking about balancing the difficulty so it's okay but it also makes it so I can't write about that. There's also plans on improving the way you learn about the world and the monsters that would provide a much better raw experience.

So, I am very eager to play this once it's completed. So eager I might not wait until it's completed, but I really should wait some more. 

TL;DR version

This is the sex dream simulator. It's finally here.

Come and delight yourself in the amazing things you will find in this world! That you always find yourself in after you fall asleep or get killed, because this is a very sexy game that does a very good job at making every monster girl feel unique. Some of the girls want to be fucked so roughly they pass out! while others want you to prove you are worthy of even approaching them. A dungeon crawler game that is heavily text based, where you explore labyrinths and see what you find and survive for as long as you can! but don't think it will be easy, because most people don't make it out alive.....

The game won't hold your hand, there are many things you will have to learn on your own and you have to get used to the controls. This game is pretty fun! I highly recommend this game. It's very sexy. Beware though, you have to spam some keys to move around so to avoid hurting your hand, use a key macro or an auto clicker :)

This game has some amazing and exciting ideas with every kind of monster girl it introduces, it's so creative and it feels like each encounter has it's own story. Each story straight out of the perfect wet dream, attention is taken into your actions, your environment, and the people around you, as not only do you get the perfect fantasy in writing, with excellent reactions from your horny partners, but it does so with creativity. Introducing concepts that you never really hear in other sexual fantasy media, like the crystals that gets absorbed by your skin that rejuvenate you and allow you to last longer.

This game is a perfect wet dream all around. The art is amazing and every girl and species feels like they have a personality of their own that really stands out. There is some story telling in knowing the special properties of the Yuki Onna, how easy and horny the cat girls are, how violent the cow girls are, and how knowledgeable and egotistical the succubuses can be.

It even has something for cock and ball torture!.... or torture at least. I don't know if it's intentional, but I feel nothing but fear as I see the cow girl stomp on my helpless body until I turn into a pulp, bones breaking, arms spagetthi, can't feel my cock no more because nothing I do works! And they chase you and all I can say is "HELP, HEEEELP AAAAAAA!!"

I feel like I am back in high school again, being bullied and locked into the locker with the ferocious gyaru trying to beat me up, doing so until I stop dropping things like a pinata. I don't think they actually want anything I have, they just enjoy brutalizing me, and I am too weak to fight them off (or charm them without getting my knees broken the moment they see me).

I did eventually manage to understand how to charm them, but it's difficult

This is a very good game, and since it's only a prototype it's nice to see that the game can be so much better in the future. It would be great to see it be more polished and complete. The writing is pretty good, I would expect the quality in many areas to be much worse on a prototype. I can expect myself playing this for many hours since the gameplay is actually fun, having to figure out how to manage your resources and the best actions to take, this is a dungeon crawler! I think once it's done I might find myself playing for so much longer. It might easily become one of my favorite games, it's touching into the concept of dreams and the dream world and that is something I love, I would be excited to see how this would look once it's finished.

The music choice is great too, it's very happy music sometimes ^^ (maybe hololive bgm?) it can feel awkward when it gets quiet sometimes though.

Speedrun strat: Strafing = more speed. Press both right and up and you'll move faster for example.

Using an autoclicker or key macro may be recommended if you find yourself having to move so much your hand hurts. Autoclickers are more user friendly and easier to set up. (Alternatively, maybe one of your items can help you navigate)

One tip is that, if you are new to dungeon crawlers, don't be afraid to use your items. Even if the dev increased how many items you could store, it will still feel limited and the game can sometimes be very generous with item drops. Use them as much as you want! Have fun, but make sure to not drop an item you really need.

I am still pretty new to the game, but it might take a long time for me to take a break from this game and try something else. I love dungeon crawlers. So I'll be posting this now and sharing my final thoughts after I am done. (note, not from original draft: oh hey another template. At some point while playing I decided I won't complete it yet)

Bugs and more

Arch Linux - Wine GE Vulkan

  • Items dissapear when you try to pick them up with your inventory full. If this is intentional, I don't like it. I could had made space for the item instead of having it dissapear
  • The quit button doesn't work. This is likely an error on my end
  • There's a delay when I press the x in the gallery. It takes a few seconds too long to close.

Writing mistakes

Due to the nature of the game (in my eyes, fast paced), it's easy for me to miss writing mistakes.

  • renpy.rpa -> renpy.rpy line 135 mc says "She's *wired*" weird* This is when mc met this girl while she was having sex with SluttyMcSlut while smoking weed. (template)

Improvements

  • It needs more mechanics and incentives to add replayability and make the runs feel more different. There's many ways to do this, I am not sure how to go about it.
  • Better item descriptions, currently they are all vague, assuming the title is self explanatory. It would be nice to know in detail what it does (either by using more words or using stats. I prefer using more words)
  • A way to move without having to spam the same key repeteadly may be important health wise, maybe shift+walk?. I feel like I will have carpal tunnel playing this game since you have to move a lot in one direction sometimes. It makes sense for it to be this way since sometimes each action you take can have an effect on you, which is why I think it should at least be optional for people to walk by simply holding a key instead of pressing it repeteadly.
    • A temporary alternative for players is to write a macro with your preferred tool of your choice (autohotkey, autoit, among others). An autoclicker should also help, that way mouse control won't be tedious since it doesn't have the same path finding rpg maker games have (rightfully so, otherwise you could cheat your way out of labyrinths).
  • Girls with more personality and depth, having a wider variety of reactions that are less predictable
    • (delete) I want more girls for each species. Girls that are recognizable, likable, and have unique behaviors and dialogue. Just like the Yuki Onna or the Succubus
  • Game over scenes, more incentive to lose but also more incentive to win small encounters. This game has gameplay that is engaging, but the sex isn't engaging because you end up seeing a lot of the same encounters and scenes and they all start to look similar.
  • Some secrets and easter eggs, a rare combination of things that you can do with the girls that could lead to a different outcome.
  • Would be nice if some of the monster girls were helpful instead of being a threat, or if you could get sex without worrying about the resource management aspect in special scenarios

Additions

Brainstorming and sharing ideas I love or would like

  • More content where the players have to read closely instead of focusing on gameplay.
  • Better visuals for your equipment. Instead of having it in text on the side have it on a window.
  • Being able to have a pet or companion would be a great way to build a story based on a relationship. Either someone that's always with you or someone you recruit from your adventures.
  • Corruption kink? Getting a character that isn't open to sex to become open to sex. Hypnosis kink? having your body controlled by something else. Illusion kink? Nothing you see is what's actually happening. Space and sci-fi elements, space is weird so it fits in a dream scenario.
  • Physical combat. This is a mechanic that is discouraged in the game, but combat can be used to lead to a sexual situation if for example the girl likes it.
  • More friendly interactions. I think every interaction I found so far is sexy.
  • An android version would be convenient for me.
  • More world building! I love world building. The game has already introduced some concepts that can be used to create a world, the species are thought out and it's characteristics are unique. Yuki Onna is not just a tall girl for example, she can summon crystals and use them as a healing property. Succubi are also deeply aware of the dream travelers, may even be toying with them or summoning them, and could they also travel to the same worlds the traveler does? Cowgirls seem to be perceived as the species with the lowest intelligence and are quick to attack anyone they see, maybe they have a community? The harpys seem very daring at first but are quick to run away when you show you can easily overpower them, how does that reflect with other characters? Seeing it all come together would be cool, but having it all stand on it's own is part of the charm of a dream simulator. Dreams can have connections but they are usually pretty good at standing on their own, sometimes people only realize their dreams are connected when they consult a professional.

Noob additions

Things I want in the game, but are probably not needed or are already in the game. With Dungeon Crawlers it's hard to know because they don't hold your hand or explain everything.

  • I think cat girls can be more sexy or cute? So far I prefer the others because they have better dialogue and writing (Might need to keep playing)
  • I don't see a way to use my items against the monster girls. If there's no way to do that, I wish there was, I want to try blinding them for self defence. For some reason I can only blind myself??? The restoration scroll can only be used to hurt me? I don't understand how to use some of these items. Since it's a dungeon crawler, I might figure it out eventually with trial and error (On Pixel Dungeon, I can throw it at enemies)(note, not from original draft: restoration I think gave me more health, it's hit or miss. It either hurts you or it heals you)
  • An item to increase your inventory. I won't need most of the items immediately most of the time, so I end up getting rid of them or wasting them by using them most of the time. There's items I will probably never use because nothing motivates me to use them and I have to get rid of them.
    • I know I gave advice earlier that would remedy this. I'll admit, not only am I not great at dungeon crawlers, but my temptation to hoard everything never leaves me.

Developer, please continue to be strong! Your work is amazing and I want to see it through. Very happy to see you didn't give up on this

I don't mind the slow progress, I was just trying to say I didn't want to wait until it was finished to share how much I liked the game. Reading that again I think I explained myself poorly

I just want to say I love this game, especially with the whole idea of a dream world. The writing can be really good at times.

I was trying to save my compliments for when I am finished with the game, but it's been a long time since I played and I usually wait more before I play games that are in progress. Especially this one because I lost my progress when I updated (I think browser version on Linux? On the "Do you guys not have phones?" version). I am very eager to play this again once it gets developed further.

Linux version has a bug where the mouse doesn't stay in the window. So I went with the browser version

I am engaged in this story, and the animations and character models are really good. She looks so beautiful <3 not just her outfit but her face and hairstyle, the faces she makes are all adorable. The guy looks a bit odd and too formal. Too attractive for someone that isn't popular but I still think he looks great. Maybe this is just the way she sees him, and he looks different in reality?

I think the dialogue is very well written, it makes good transitions between sex scenes and has a really good way of working with flirting and romance. The game felt very romantic at times. I always liked how the sex was approached in this game, and the scenes were all very exciting. Always delving into fetishes very well and making sure the scenes last long enough to be satisfying. It never felt like it was too long or like it overstayed it's welcome, but I did skip them whenever I didn't have any new scenes unlocked.

I like how the story has some nuance. I really don't have a problem with her being jealous of Stephanie since she tried to steal him away from her. It's very reasonable that she would be upset once this is more evident later on in the game, she knows what she is doing. I found it funny how in the scene where she lashes out for not wanting to make love on the third date, she's pretending, she just opens one of her eyes like a little trickster. Really makes you think, how much of it has she been faking?

The conflict in the relationship is something I can take seriously. I fully expect her parents to be dead but something much darker could be going on. It's a shame it's never revealed what happened in the game since it was never finished :/ it was unsatisfying to see how little the scenes differed based on how you treated her, and to also see it end at that point.

You know it's been over a year since I first played this, and I still keep coming back to it. It's a great game! Unlike past times, I am on a good pc this time and I am recording it so the experience will be saved

I found out this game has a memory leak issue on Arch Linux XFCE Desktop, on Linux and Browser version. This is easy to replicate by opening and closing the menu multiple times. Each time you open the menu ram usage will increase and if done enough, your machine can get overloaded. I think the android version also has this issue, I haven't tried it but I had played other rpg maker games on android that also get slow whenever you open the menu.

I recommend restarting the game whenever you feel it getting slower. On PC, have a task manager open to monitor ram usage. I didn't notice the game getting slower on my machine before it got overloaded.

This issue is fairly common with rpg maker games. I also tried the Windows version with Wine (it translates Windows2Linux) and it also has that bug, but ram only increases by a few mbs so it's usually not a problem and it's very unnoticeable. I don't know if this is a problem when you run this on Windows.

Your newer games like Dampftraun don't have this issue though, so that's good ^^

cheated my way into a secret room by giving myself a secret master key~


There's nothing here, and the bed has no collission, but I wanted to share anyways uwu. I was able to unlock all the doors, and they are all placeholder rooms. I was expecting to see the void instead. There's also a "secret 14" variable that doesn't show any secrets on the computer

The art style for this game is lovely <3 it's so good. Janna looks so adorable at times and sometimes beautiful, she looks so sexy when she's acting like a slut. Her personality mixes so well with many of the characters in the game, I like how with Warwick she was dominant at times. I also like the gimmicks that are presented by each different character, they are not simple one-sided gimmicks, some of them have some nuance that I really enjoyed. The world design, character design, and all of the design was really well made and I liked how many expressions every character has.

I like to see how the writing in Raven's Quest (a game made after this one) is a lot better than this game. Raven Quest made many improvements in exchange for having less artwork and less characters.

Seeing that spot turned into a cute girl was a "oh shit" moment. Let's go (edit: ok, boy….. WHY IS HE SO CUTE!?!? Spot!!)

the cum lover's club? You probably need to complete dungeon 2 and then talk to Freya. Talking to Freya is not relevant to this side quest, but it unlocks all the sidequests you are supposed to unlock after this dungeon.

I tried for myself, you have to beat the second dungeon and then talk Freya. Once you do, you get the option to "exchange 3 vials of cum", otherwise it doesn't show up despite having the vials of cum. This is probably done to avoid spoilers, or this is probably where the second wave of secondary tasks are unlocked

This will probably lead to a lot of people missing it, since people are told about the vials and the eau of cum way earlier :/
