As you can see by the HTTP request, the game pings this game page, to check the version number. If the version you are playing is older than what is available on this page, it will prompt you with a message to update. That's all it does.
It does! If you join the discord there is a better version since it has been reviewed by a native speaker, and has fixed all of the known issues with the translation! :)
I'll answer this here :) It's not too often, but with this engine, it's impossible to do scenes in doorways, so I do create items/maps that allow me doorway transitions and scenes. Another notable one was the walking stick the grandma used in 0.6, haha.
It won't include a holiday event, no. An update takes as long as it takes, the sizes of updates differ depending on the content I have planned for them, although I try to keep them roughly all the same size.
Your system may not be capable at running the game. I believe Ren'py recommends at least 3gb of free ram in order for things to run smoothly without interruption.
However, I cannot help on a case-by-case basis, since there are too many variables. My advice would be to download and play the game on a different, more capable device.
