Hello,

I appreciate the movement of the weapons but thought there was not much depth to the controls and gameplay.

I think this is a great start to a bigger game.

Thanks for sharing!

Hello,

I liked the presentation of your game with the introduction explaining what the player has to do.

I would have appreciated a tutorial with no time limit to get the controls down and build player confidence.

Thanks for sharing!

I played the game again and it was a fun experience. I felt like I had to move fast to solve the environmental puzzle and liked the introduction of other game mechanics (e.g., portal).

Thanks again for sharing!

Thank you for your response. I will try the game again.

Hello

I think this game fits the theme well and has a distressed atmosphere that helps with the fearful experience. I appreciate the cutscenes as well.

I think I would have liked The Maniac to spawn in differently or to have some kind of indicator or warning on screen that The Maniac is near (for example, use faint footsteps approaching). There were times when I would enter the room and The Maniac is right there and I get caught.

Good game, thanks for sharing.

Hello,

I liked the simplicity of your game and the environmental puzzle element. I appreciate the player choosing a control scheme but I could not figure out if a key or mouse button needed to be pressed when standing over the platform (I believe it was Level 3) in order to unlock the door to proceed. Sorry if I missed something.

This game reminded me of a couple of games I played when I was a child. Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for playing and giving feedback.

Honestly, I am unfamiliar with Faith the Unholy Trinity and Princess Quest from FNaF. My inspiration was drawn from sci-fi so I did what I could within 64x64 resolution.

In regards to the huge description, that's why I think I should have outlined the controls at the top of the page. =)

Thanks again,

-TPC

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for providing a window into the sea! Great experience! I think I would of liked some kind of ending for the jellyfish and overall close to the experience. Very unique game, though.

Hello,

I like the concept and overall look of this game, but it runs slow in my browser when I try to play in full screen.

Best wishes!

Hello,

I love everything about this game! It has fun gameplay and charm. I enjoy looking at the art and really dig the sword.

I think some kind of narrative would enhance the player experience. I am interested in knowing about the sword's and blacksmith's origin.

Great game! Best wishes!

Hello,

Based on from what I played on Gameboy, I think this is a very unique game concept with good visuals. However, the game does not capture the Gameboy soul that I am familiar with (this is just my opinion/preference).

Hello,

I found the gameplay fun but I think the enemies should stop moving when the text box reminder comes up. I found myself trying to rush to close the text box and give the tether slack before the enemy would cut it. Overall, challenging and fun gameplay.

Thanks for sharing!

Hello,

I really liked how you combined two interpretations for space. Graphics looked great! I think a narrative could make the game a little more engaging.

Thanks for sharing!

Hello,

I really liked the use of the secondary theme and how your game incorporates Tetris-like gameplay. Thank you for explaining your game vision in the description. With polish and some music, I think you have the potential for a great Gameboy game!

-TPC

Thank you! I hope you enjoyed the gameplay as well.

Thanks for the clarification!

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.  I will be making changes to those small slime sprites so that the player can easily distinguish between enemy and background.

Thanks again for playing!

-TPC

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback! My intention was to challenge the player by really concentrating on moving slime, but I will be making that small slime bigger.  With regards to the music, if you re referring to the main theme, I will be making changes to that as well.

Thanks again for taking the time to play the demo!

Thank you for trying to play the game. What happens when you click on the  game to start in the browser?  The web build of the game is working fine on my end.

I hope you can try again.

Thank you for playing! I am glad you liked variety of play.

I am wondering the same thing. I encountered an error while trying to submit. I really would like to submit this project.

Hello,

Thanks for all your feedback and suggestions.

To be honest, the stars spawning over earth was intentional (not a bug) to force the player to wait and survive. I wanted to use the randomness as a way to make the gameplay a bit more challenging.

Best wishes,

- TPC

Okay, thanks. I just sent you a friend request.

Hi there,

I am a pixel artist who would like to participate in both jams as well (Lowrez and 1-Bit).  I was wondering if you were in need of a pixel artist and would like to team up?

Hello,

I love the retro-vibe the art and music give. I think there should be some kind of incentive such as a scoreboard or timer to represent player achievement or measure survival.

Overall, cool game! Thanks for sharing!

I hope you enjoyed this arcade-inspired experience.

Thank you for playing!

Hello,

This game reminds me of "Rampage" for the NES. I think the visuals capture the scenario of a scared city fighting a monstrous creature (I loved the news broadcast that appears at the top left of the screen). I wish there was an easier mechanic to fire at the helicopters but still have the evade the monster's projectile easily. Moving to the left would have been great as well.

Overall, great presentation and concept! Thanks for sharing.

Hello,

I really appreciate how you had a variety of gameplay and narrative to go with it (well done).  I think a reason why people are after you would make the narrative more interesting, and wouldn't defeating the world here be catastrophic, leaving you to be the only human alive (possible sequel?)?

Fun concept, thanks for sharing!

Hello,

A Mario-themed game where you need to survive is interesting and simple, which I like. I played all the way to the end, so I guess I can survive! lol Anyways, I figured out how the game system works in order to survive, which made the experience a bit repetitive even though it never gets old to control Mario (I think you captured his movements very well here). I suggest having rooms/areas (arena-style) with waves of enemies rather than a scrolling level for a survival game.

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed playing another Mario game!

Hello,

I grew up playing Mario games so I really appreciate how you gave him combat abilities (I especially like doing the uppercut). I think it would have been cool if some new art was created for this game rather than reusing a lot of the sprites from previous games. New enemies and environments that expand the Mario universe and show some originality would have taken this over the top, in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed playing this game (it took me back to my childhood).

Hello,

Interesting combination of Half-Life and top-down shooter concept. When I played the game, I enjoyed the enemies coming at me on screen but found that the shooting mechanic was a bit slow. I think the setting or environment can use detail to make it look like a Half-Life game. A variety of weapons would make this game fun.

Thanks for sharing.

Hello,

I played both the story and battle modes. I like the overall presentation of the game and the light-heartedness that it brings. I did have some trouble playing through the story mode since my character would spawn in the same location as my opponent, which then would lead to me getting hit off the level, losing, and then going back to the title screen. I suggest having different spawn points for the characters and a retry screen?

Again, love the presentation and idea. Thanks for sharing.
